Intimidation is a sign of bullying and/or insecurity.
I usually date highly educated, quietly confident left wing types, often from old money families

I would date someone lower in intelligence than me. You don't need a high IQ to have common sense, and most of the smart people I've met have had mental issues co-morbid with their intellect anyway (just a personal experience there, not a statement).

I've found people want someone that matches them in intelligence so that they can have intellectual enough conversations with them and relate to them on an intellectual level. I'm not a conversationalist full stop so intellectuals see no appeal in me.
