Nice guys and girls do exist. That does not mean they're always and unconditionally nice, but the degree and frequency of niceness they tend to exhibit is above average, which makes them nice people.

Still not convinced that some girls do not reject guys for being too nice. When a girl's rejection line is something along the lines of: "You're too nice", that's a good indicator that it happens. And it makes sense: guys who are too passive aren't often seen as attractive, and the passive bit is typically seen as a turn off for many girls. If passive = nice, then there you have it, girls don't tend to be attracted to such nice guys but may like them as good friends.

Perhaps a course in logic would be in order.

There is a difference between being a nice guy, and a "nice guy" is that the "nice guy" thinks he deserves something more because he is nice. he thinks he deserves a girl or to get what he wants because he is nice. This makes him not nice. A true nice guy is humble and cares about someone. He does not think of himself as a nice guy. He thinks of himself as acting the way he should act. Nice guys who turn down the girl when she comes to him because he knows she is emotionally vulnerable and it is not real. Nice guy who accepts a girls feelings and respects them and doesn't try to manipulate her. To be honest look at a girls father and her relationship with him and you will find out alot more about what a girl wants than the "nice guy" bad boy thing. There is more to men than- bad abusive controlling using guy. And nice doormat guy with lots of feelings who uses words and kind gestures. Both are manipulative. But one is aggressive and one is passive aggressive.

I see alot of "nice guys" be the bad guy because he finally gets his chance and takes it. If a girl likes you it doesnt matter if you buy her flowers and listen to her, or cheat on her and tease her, if she is at a point in her life where she wants you she will still take whatever you treat her like.
Being a nice guy or bad guy is much more than this black and white thing you make it out to be. Nice guys do not think of themselves as nice. they are just guys.

Not being a nice guy does NOT mean he's a misogynist; it just means that he's not a nice guy thou misogynist are not nice. Not being a misogynist can NOT mean he's a misogynist because it's completely contradictory & the same goes for nice guys not being nice guys..

Erroneous loop.

Difference between a decent person and someone trying to crawl up your backside.

If a girl says she won't date you because you're "too nice", it's code for "I'd like to be able to take a dump sometime, and you're blocking up the works. Remove your head from my posterior, I'm not interested in you and sucking up won't change that.".

Or words to that effect.

Or it could be he really is too nice and she prefers someone to be somewhat more assertive. It's all circumstantial and not black and white as many people make it out to be.

Same difference.

Then again, I don't see that "Nice" and "Assertive" have to be mutually exclusive either.

But your idea of nice may be different from another girl's idea of nice. However, from what I can see, it does seem like generally speaking when a girl describes someone as nice but not in an attracted manner, it means he's passive but doesn't stand up for himself or call the girl out when she doesn't treat him with respect, etc.

Of course, there's the other definition of nice in which the girl says it in a lovey dovey kind of manner and this kind of nice is the good kind of nice when it comes to attraction.

Everyone has their version of "nice" yes, but I'd say the majority of people would consider someone going beyond that to be crawling or sucking up. Being overly nice without any sort of assertiveness instantly raises a red flag with most people - "Okay, what does s/he want?". It could be sucking up for sex, a relationship, or even money.

It's very easy to think the worst when someone is being too nice. You never know when they're going to try and "collect" on their niceness. *shifty eyes*

Nice people of both genders exist.
They may not be the most common but some people out there will try to help you out whenever they can without expecting anything in return from you.

That said you cant expect someone to date you just because you are nice towards them.

Why?
Its pretty simple.
Anyone can be nice. I can be nice, that man over there in the street can be nice and even your grandpa can be nice towards people.

You need to show some qualities that make you different to most people.

All I have for example is an extensive knowledge of trivia and the ability to make people laugh at almost any time(when I was child I was encouraged to work on it because it helped with my lack of social skills and right now it comes naturally).
The right combination of trivia/laughs has made more than one woman interested in me but for one reason or the other it didnt work out.

I am not talking about nice people, I am talking about the "Nice Guy" internet meme, where people think it is justified to throw bricks at guys, and make up stupid excuses.

lol!

It's funny how these Nice Guy(TM) threads always devolve into pointless symantics arguments.

@Apple. If you insist on using a different vernacular than everyone else, you forfit your right to complain when people don't undersatnd what your point is.

If you don't fit the description of a "Nice Guy(TM)" then nobody is talking about you..........Why so defensive?
