 my biggest obstacle to that is I have kids, one day I'm gonna die and they will find it. 8O And if it makes any kind of motor sound,I would not like that.I don't even like vibrators, and I heard they make you less sensitive.I have heard that most women enjoy it.But if you don't like it,can you return it,used 8O What if they resell it and you get a used one? These questions run through my brain.I think too much.

if it makes noise you could wear earplugs I suppose. a used one could be sanitized and reconditioned, beside there are used men also and one would not necessarily think less of them, would one?

The answer is no, they won't accept returns unless it's faulty. As for the chance of a used one...they usually come sealed in some plastic wrapper, so no worries there.

Earplugs for a vibrator??!

I really don't like the buzz sound vibrators make,a sensory issue. And ear plugs also bother me.
But I do like a tongue in my ear

Not sure the sybian device of which is being referred to will help the OP...although I'm curious, if it went wrong wouldn't the user end up being mashed into the ceiling?

its not something I look for and I keep my interaction to a minimum. The problem is that I'm prone to developing feelings when someone instigates contact with me, particularly if she is being nice to me. If feels like everything gets magnified and suddenly I'm falling in love.
How do I prevent this? If I could isolate myself completely then I would.
What your talking about is infatuation which is like a strong crush feeling. I had problems with that too when I was single & I could of used the pill thing because sometimes while crushing on a certain girl I would feel psychically & mentally like I was having a Xanax overdose & it was really hard for me to function then. But unlike you I was wanting a relationship. Maybe you could try to think more negatively when you start getting those feelings; like tell yourself that she's only wanting something for you or wouldn't like you 1ce she gotten to know you.

Aww, come on. What's the point of having kids if you can't traumatize them with the reality Momma has sexy urges? I say if they find my stash after my death, I'll be laughing so hard from the afterlife they'll hear me.

No, it's just toooo sexy for this thread! Actually, I'm going to get some of his stuff.

Smudge, are you saying that life always equates to feelings? You make a good point - I'm not saying he has to go the whole hog. But when a feeling is debilitating his life in a certain way, wouldn't it be better to take a little control of it?

Yes, I am saying if you want to live at all, it has to be with emotions or it isn't worth it.

It's hard to lessen or control a feeling only a little with will. If you want to take the edge off, Sodium Benzoate (a preservative) numbs me - it is found in soft drinks and other liquid foods. SB has been found to affect attention levels in children. For me it's quite powerful and only requires about 1l of soft drink containing it to have an effect in about a day. I wouldn't source the stuff on its own!

I do think it's awful stuff though, and some drinks companies have been phasing it out because of scares of Benzene, and replacing it with Potassium Sorbate, which also affects me but not nearly so much. *Shrug*

Trust me on that my daughter was totally traumatized recently, and possibly an old blind lady.I can't explain further.

You can seperate yourself from your feelings so that most of what you feel is numbness. I did that and it lasted for several years. It makes life meaningless. You do want to be able to love, and hate.

How did you escape the numbness? I am getting there, myself, and it feels liberating, all too often, but... being numb, constantly, would obviously be pretty bad...

Of course, my life already is meaningless.... tonight I discovered that I seem to have more attraction to an anime and manga character than to actual humans.... then again, if someone was very much alike her... maybe I would like her just as much... of course, I do not *love* this character.... thankfully.... >_>; or *yet*, anyway.... who knows what another few years of loneliness might do to me....

Was that really necessary...? The original poster obviously is in pain, so it is rather cruel to mock him, as you did.

Is there a way, like a pill I could take to prevent feelings of falling for someone. I feel I fall in love much too easily and I've had my heart broken way too many times as a result. I think I'm just done with being left with a feeling of hopelessness.
How do you prevent falling in love?

That sounds exactly like my exeperience up to my mid 40s

I don't know what caused this - I suspect it's a change in hormone levels as I got older - but somewhere between 40 and 45 I very rapidly stopped falling in love with every woman I met. It's been probably a good five years since I have had any kind of crush on anyone and I must say it is a relief.

I see you are 40 years old. If your experience is anything like mine, you may experience a fall off of the tendency to fall in love. It's not that I have lost any capacity to love, but rather I am not pulled around willy nilly. I feel that now I am able to decide how far to take my emotional involvement with people and I feel I am not being controlled by internal forces.

I understand your situation is very frustrating and I wish you luck.

I'm sorry.
I wasn't entirely being sarcastic though. Auntblabby is a man so it's unlikely that he's gonna fall for him but what if it was a female poster? He may well develop feelings for her, and get his heartbroken again when he finds out she was just being nice.
