Is there a way, like a pill I could take to prevent feelings of falling for someone. I feel I fall in love much too easily and I've had my heart broken way too many times as a result. I think I'm just done with being left with a feeling of hopelessness.
How do you prevent falling in love?
That sounds exactly like my exeperience up to my mid 40s
I don't know what caused this - I suspect it's a change in hormone levels as I got older - but somewhere between 40 and 45 I very rapidly stopped falling in love with every woman I met. It's been probably a good five years since I have had any kind of crush on anyone and I must say it is a relief.
I see you are 40 years old. If your experience is anything like mine, you may experience a fall off of the tendency to fall in love. It's not that I have lost any capacity to love, but rather I am not pulled around willy nilly. I feel that now I am able to decide how far to take my emotional involvement with people and I feel I am not being controlled by internal forces.
I understand your situation is very frustrating and I wish you luck.
