I fell just slightly into the "secure" quadrant, which is kind of funny, because I actually think of myself as somewhat insecure.

Secure attachment

I'd argue that my past relationships were very insecure, but it was all because I was with mismatched partners. I feel so lucky to have my partner of now 2 years: I really trust him and feel secure opening up to him, because I feel like he truly understands me. As someone who doesn't trust others easily and feels anxious and insecure around others people most of the time, this relationship has had a huge positive impact on my life.

That is a very great thing to hear, as I often wonder myself if I'll just always be stuck with anxieties and insecurities around anyone I'm interested in.

I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

dont know what you can really do about it

reading more about it seems pretty spot on actually, reading about attachment styles of children and how they develop I recognize more than a few things unfortunately.

Test says "Preoccupied", though I'd like to think of myself as fairly secure.

Just because I wouldn't always be "comfortable" doing things like opening up emotionally, doesn't mean I wouldn't do it anyway.
