For me, I'd say maybe. I think it just depends upon the degree it shapes someone's life. If they, say, really enjoy a certain hobby and prefer to spend quiet evenings at home doing that, instead of going out and sitting in a bar all the time, I would be cool with that. But, if it is to the point they have trouble functioning in the world outside their home, spending enough time together to maintain a healthy relationship, etc., then that would be problematic, of course.
Having some degree of balance can be helpful, too. If somebody is really, really into something, but they are also curious enough about the world around them not to mind occasionally learning or trying new things and can hold up conversations about topics outside their primary interests, then it would be much less of an issue, if it's even an issue at all.
