Is a car required for a relationship?

For males, anything that illustrates independence adds a -MASSIVE- increase of desirability, A car and your own apartments is huge. Your independence is a powerful mark of your masculinity, which is what women are attracted to at the foremost.

Somewhat related but my brother had trouble with long-term relationships until he bought a house. His curent relationship has been working since he's owned it.

I suspect aspies will struggle with independence though, your own place is more important than a car I would say.

I wish I could get petrol that cheap but I live in Taxlandia.

Remember, once you get a car, all your carless friends will start asking for lifts.

we have one of the best bus systems in the usa here and it still sucks. takes extra hour and half to get to my work while driving only takes 15 mins. this varies but effects going just about anywhere where you have to change buses. If i stay in town on main street then it only ads 15 to 30 mins. compared to a 5-10 min car trip.
we have lots of bike riders and bus riders in our two cities, yet almost every dating ad/profile list having a car as a requirement.

to be honest it seems like the city next to mine is all bike shops and starbucks.

How essential a car is to dating depends on 1) how old you are and 2) where you live.

Age: If you're under 18 (or, say, under 23-24 and a full-time college student) then not having a car is no biggie.

Location: If you live in Manhattan, not having a car is no biggie. Because, well, pretty much nobody has a car.

It seems that women prefer a man with a car over a man who doesnt in my case I got a car for me not so I can get a woman who wants me for my car they come and go my car will always be there for me as long as I take care of her!

Sure. But assuming you aren't blind (can't drive) and don't live in manhattan (or the downtown core of an uber-big, expensive city where no one has a car), why wouldn't you want to have a car?

Because they are expensive and environmentally unsound and in my city most people can get around okay on public transport.

If you're interest in dating any girl/woman over the age of 14, then you need a car. Before then, a bicycle will usually suffice.

That's because driving a car is a sure sign that: (1) you are reasonable trustworthy; (2) you can afford* it on your own; or (3) your parents can afford* to support your dating habits.

Basically, a car is a show of both high social status and wealth* -- two essentials that gold-digging*, social-climbing females must perceive before you stand a chance of drawing their attention.

Mature women, however, really do seem to be just as interested (in the long-term, anyway) in men who are mature, responsible, intelligent, educated, compassionate, assertive (not aggressive), and generally interesting to be around.

I'm confused. Your last paragraph seems to contradict your first. Does he need a car or not?

let's hope not, right now i think i'd only really be motivated to get a car if i had a gf
