It doesn't mean anything I am afraid. I heard women calling other woman AND men 'hun' 'baby' 'sweetheart' etc with no secondary intentions.

Depends really... Online I've been called hun or hunny by guys and girls alike. Likly it's their type or greeting, being more friendly or feel more at ease or feel just that little bit closer for any number of reasons.

A girl I don't know that well (she's my mom's friend's daughter) called me "hun" over a Facebook PM. I'm assuming that's short for honey but I'm not sure. I also said something nice to her, just being friendly, and she responded with "AWWWW". I can't read people well. Is she possibly flirting with me. I'm not really into her because I don't know her, I'm just wondering.

Where does she live & where was she raised? If either are south of the Mason-Dixon Line, it's a generic term used to refer to others, eg waitresses who say "hi hun, what can I get ya?".

I've had women call me that at restaurants & online who defiantly were not interested in me so I assume it's just a friendly thing
