What are paranuts?

I do enjoy candy, as well.

Yes most of us here do not see autism as something bad, we are more accepting of ourselves.

I don't like it, but some do, and I'm cool with that.

Most people met someone sharing their opinions in conversation and topics, posting an ad doesn't do much. Saying who you are and where you live is so generic and doesn't mean a lot in the long run, unfortunately.

You're right.

Someone once told me that you will find love where you least expect it, but I just got tired of waiting. I saw the post about the married couple on here and thought I might give that a try. I figured posting this on here would be a better option than going on a dating site because the people on here would at least know about our condition.

I kind of feel embarrassed about this now. Oh well, it was worth a shot. If I knew how to edit or delete this post, I would.

Thanks for all that replied or gave their opinion. I don't know if it means anything to any of you, but this is the first message board that I posted on that didn't call me a derogatory name when I told them that I am a transsexual. You don't know how good that makes me feel. Thank You!

Nah, don't delete this thread. People are replying and giving genuine dating/relationship advice and you're learning. There's value in that even if this thread doesn't result in any messages/dates etc.

As for posting this thread vs. joining another dating site.. nothing wrong with it, IMO, especially given the fact that you're trans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd think that the more places you put yourself out there the better your chances of finding a possible partner are. So, use this site, use dating sites, use classified ads, use hookup sites (there are real people on them, too, not just one night stand types) & be open to meeting someone wherever you happen to be in real life - at the grocery store, wherever, as you never know where or when you might meet someone you're compatible with.

For all our flaws, us Aspies tend to be quite the accepting non-judgemental crowd in general. We'd be some pretty big hypocrites if we called some other minority group derogatory names when we're often the ones marginalized by society for being different ourselves, wouldn't we?

Even if you don't find love among this group, you'll probably find some of the best feedback you can learn from that you'll come across anywhere on the internet.

I'd be willing to take a guess that most of the people who have 'hooked up' via WrongPlanet have done so only after chatting, getting to know each other's online persona and then taking it off line - rather than through a personals type posting. But I could be wrong.

I'd also think you need to be much more upfront about being a transexual as this is something that would put a lot of people off (including myself), but others for whom this is actually a good or at least a neutral thing. And since you are trans I think you probably need to specify the gender of the person you're looking for.

The other thing is that you should be listing what YOU are looking for in a mate. Some potential mate should be able to say "Hey, I fit that. I can offer those things in a relationship."

Oh, and you might want make a thread in the LGBT forum. Even though it's not nearly as busy of a forum as Love & Dating is, you might find someone browsing there who's interested in you.

I'm not too picky, but I want someone who has at least a little respect for themselves or at least can get some after a while. I know how it is to be ignored over some petty BS, so I try my best to give everyone a chance if they truly want it. In other words, don't be a psycho killer or homophobic a**hole and we could be just fine.
