Not necessarily. I'm still friends with a girl despite her knowing full well how I feel about her, after all. As long as I don't wilfully mess things up, we'll be fine.

O dear, you are in Lets Just Be Friends Zone :(
we have saying "you're f****" or in this case, not

Considering I was anticipating a hell of a lot worse when I told her how I felt, I think I've got off pretty well, to be honest. The fact that she still wants to hang out with me despite knowing how I feel while I'm around her is a testament to how much she cares for me.

Besides which, she's gay, so it's not like she could ever reciprocate anyway.

Well, i dunno. Sounds like she could be a good wingman for you.
Gay  i am bad at picking em too.

Just be friends. Try not to think of the biology. (I know, that's hard...)

I'm good friends (perhaps best friends) with a girl I had/have a serious crush on. But she's taken, so...

Just don't make any sexual advances/plays. A little flirting is ok, if she initiates that sort of stuff, but never let it go very far. A quip or two and then nip it.

The worst part is, she only realised this recently :( Although to be honest, if I'd said something sooner and we'd actually got together, it would have hurt far more, I reckon. Better to have it happen this way, since it obviously was going to happen.

Still, since then I have seriously thought (on more than one occasion) about suggesting we go looking for the girls of our dreams together. Who knows, maybe she'd accept the invitation :)

I would think no more about it and put it too her, she would be daft to turn it down. It's a win-win situation. :P

Probably 'cos it's not a pick-up line or you have not heard many. Or both.

That's what I thought about my wife.
Turned out, she wasn't, much to her
surprise.

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be that lucky. Hence the reason I spent most of the weekend in an "I hate myself and I want to die" mood, with at least thirty minutes of my Sunday being dedicated to sitting curled up on the floor of my bedroom in the foetal position, clutching my face in both hands and mumbling "Stop it stop it stop it stop it go away go away go away" over and over again.

Why yes, I am messed up, thank you for asking.
