I've told you before, love - you only need to ask, and I'll tell you anything you want about me......

The modern definition of “stalking” would be attempting to see or speak with someone who has specifically requested they be left alone.

Example: Your girlfriend breaks up with you and tells you not to contact her. Instead, you call her repeatedly, show up at her doorstep, ask her friends about what she is doing, follow her to find out who she is seeing, go somewhere you know her to be so you can “accidentally” encounter her, etc.

That is what is what “stalking” consists of. Simply obsessing or perseverating on someone is not stalking, but is an unhealthy practice and can make a person extremely miserable.

You've got to be kidding. :(

I don't lie to myself, and conversation never "naturally flows". I wouldn't know confidence if it jumped up and bit me on the ass. *Sigh* And it's *always* a "big deal". I'm d00med.

I wish I could find a guy who didn't want to talk all the damn time. so many people feel "awkward" when there isn't anything being said. Is it so hard to just sit there and enjoy each other's company without talking?! :x

I've never stalked anybody. I think it's creepy. If someone stalked me, I would try to stay as far away from that as possible.

I think I'd be a good stalker if I put my mind to it. I seriously considered becoming a Private Investigator, but I was put off by the fact that most of the cases are cheating spouses or insurance fraud. :?

I probably would be good at stalking, but I'm not interested in it. Maybe I could find some use for it in conjunction with computer forensics in law enforcement. Me in law enforcement...sounds like such a paradox.

I have the ability to make very clear to who i am attracted to that i am with no pressure. Unfortunately I am fairly unattractive, so all my attempts have ended in failure.

hmm.

It's very very easy to cross the line of obsession and stalking. If I do things without thinking first it would cross the line. I always try to be very careful not to cross that line.

As much as I want to. It's not going to help.

I am extraordinarily skilled at investigating people. If I encounter someone who intrigues me (not romantically/sexually--that's a different matter altogether) in "real life," it's easier for me to "investigate" that person than to develop a real relationship with him or her (the latter would pretty much depend on the other person, anyway, since I've given up on "making the first move" in the interest of preserving my own health [via prevention of life-threatening (at least they seem at the time :?) emotional encounters]).

Nested parentheses make me happy. :D

Anti, that's great advice under one circumstance - that your personal wiring allows that to work. Trust me, I went years thinking that my diagnosis with AS had been a crock and that I'd just been a weak person making weak excuses. I took that whole gung-ho "mind over matter" approach, gave my whole heart and soul into it but then, bit by bit things started to happen that made me panic - all that progress I thought I was making could be lost by the next day when I woke up, I was constantly reverting back to immature or "weak" behaviors that I thought I'd already conquered, and the second I conquered one ground and went on to conquer another, the ground I'd just left would spring up behind me. No, nothing to do with negative thinking, with all the Alonso from Training Day grill-lectures I was giving myself it definitely wasn't lack of toughness, and the more I panicked the more I ratched that effort up to 200%, 300%, treated like it was some kind of 1600's japanese bushido thing (ie. motivating myself by telling myself that if I'm making these mistakes, I really should kill myself because its suicide of honor) and I had to keep amping up the anger-to-motivation fuel just to even barely keep the same ground and not backtrack.

That tought me one thing though, this definitely isn't weakness or just negative thinking. When people here that they'll try and come up with everything and everything they can to pin it back on me - that I was being too hard on myself (lol, they don't realize that approach was my last resort after doing it in every way as NOT to be hard on myself), maybe they'll just say I was weak willed, but regardless it sounds too alien for them to believe.

You've gotta just understand though that AS is a really ****ed up disorder like that and that we all have different manifestations of it.

Considering how petty we are and what we do to eachother? I used to think it was possible untill I found out just how far from ok it is from an NT perspective, now I'm as paranoid if not moreso by it.

Yet while it is a genuine cause of tragedy, it should not be used as a justification of sort. Let's say I stalk someone, and then I tell that person "Oh, go easy on me. (Pulls out brochures) I HAVE ASPERGERS!" It's actually like Family Guy.

Peter: (Walks into ladies restroom, opens stall) (Woman Screams) Sorry, I'm ret*d.
Woman: That's OK.
Peter: (Opens another stall, more screams) Sorry, I'm ret*d.
Woman: Aww, how cute.
Peter: (Opens another stall, screams) Lady, didn't you hear me before.
Woman: That's OK. (Asks as if addressing a child) What to see how my body works?
