I love you

Love should be shown with actions, not proclaimed with words, so I find the phrase "I love you" totally useless. Anybody could say it but only somebody serious could prove it with actions over extended periods of time.

Also, I don't find security in hearing that phrase.

I'm the same! But... people kind of long for hearing those words. My boyfriend once totally exploded because after 7 months together I didn't say "I love you" (he didn't either haha)... Then I sat him down and explained to him how I show love and that I thought people can generally decode those actions. I felt - on the other hand - a bit unloved because he wasn't doing things I think show love. We're on the same page now, he became a bit more of an action man , I'm more skilled with words. Win-win
But yeah... it was hard at times.
He still thinks women generally love-chatter a lot and talk the honey bunny sweet nonsense talk and he calls me his boyfriend because I'm so NOT like that.

love is true.
truth is hard to find.
blah.

I find truth for a living & I'm not interested in being paid for it because that too would border on the absurd.

I work with/around awesome people I love very much because this way I am able to save lives technologically.

So by all means, keep judging everybody but I think love is a nicer way of being.

When I said it to my girlfriend, this is exactly what I had in mind, even though I acknowledge that things are probably not going to work out that way.

But what if you are 100% sure that it won't work in that direction?

If one "falls in love," one can fall so hard that they lose perspective.

One might not care, in this instance, if there's a "possibility" of the consummation of that love.

I've been through this sort of thing.

What I do: I create a "muse" in my mind based upon the object of my love. This sort of thing has been a literary staple for centuries upon centuries. This sort of thing has created some of the best literature.
