I'm aware, but this is sadly what the general public think...as far as social media goes.
Just go to any facebook news posts about the royal wedding and you'll see for yourself.

In person no one I know seems to fussed, none of the vitriol like I've seen online.
Just a few comments that the dress could've been prettier

Agreed, it's a great advertisement for the UK!

This is the only post about the Royal Wedding I've had on my feed

Quote:
•Volunteered for 2 tours of Afghanistan.
•Set up Invictus games helping wounded service personal.
° Numerous unpaid charity volunteer appointments all over the world.
•Family brings in 400 million a year in private revenue that under the “ sovereign act 2011” the government keeps £360 million of.
•Family brings in £1.8 billion per year in tourism.
•Country better off by £2.1 billion a year.
Remind me how the wedding is waste of tax payers money ?
° The wedding is paid for by the Royal heritage and private funding not the tax payer and that includes her dress!
° The tax payer will pay for the public security not private security. The same way the tax payer pays for public security at football matches etc.

Dont be a zombie and believe everything you see and read on the Internet, do a little research before sharing propaganda. Like it or not, the Royal family is a British tradition and icon.
Let’s not forget that most the twats complain about spending tax payers money are the ones who sit and sign for that money every Wednesday or daft liberals who haven't got a clue about reality.

You obviously know smarter people, lol.
I'm going by comment sections from news articles rather than those sharing posts.
Generally the people I know have remained indifferent on the whole affair, or just commented on the dress.

Only the fringe idiots really cared one way or the other.

Then again, the fringe idiots would make negative remarks about a cure kitty—find something “microaggressive” about it. Like a cute kitty is somehow “triggering.”

Haha, yes, probably jealousy. As a man, I can say that Meghan looks very attractive. 8) I don't know how old Meghan is, but they look about the same age to me.

As a musical term for sure, "the '80s" imply the late '70s and early '90s. You can think of them as tapers of this golden decade.

Sounds like you’re either making that up as another excuse to be sexist, or you need better friends.

I would hardly call older gossipy coworkers friends.

You just lack observation - or you’re making this up - or you’re lucky for not being around gossipers.

Take a look up at some reaction tweets to get the idea.

I don’t look for gossip. The people I have discussed it with like it. It’s hardly a good reason to start slagging off women for.

I also try to stay away from f-wits, though that’s easier said than done.

I also haven't heard anything negative said about her. I guess the people I know have other things to be preoccupied with.

Can you explain exactly how they are sponging off of the tax payers please? From someone who never makes a fuss of anything.

it is said that they cost 65 pence per year per person. they own a lot of land and property from inheritance. they don't work (unless you consider a couple of public appearances a year 'work'). yes, they are required ti keep up appearances and some of them try to do charity work but even that's frowned upon within inner royal circles (see Diana). they are ultimately useless and only a tourist attraction.

ps for those who say that they bring in revenue from tourism - i call BS! tourists would still be coming in equal numbers even if the royal family was not around. however, these weddings and special events do bring in some good dough to the bbc and various news agency lol

making a fuss does not mean complaining for the sake of it necessarily. it can mean observing when things are wrong or could be improved.

The money that comes from the government is paid out of the revenues from the Crown estates. Their wealth and property isn't ours, are you against inheritances all together or just picking on them?

A COUPLE OF APPEARANCES A YEAR!! ! the Queen carries out over 300 engagements per year, she's in her 90's.

The queen is patron to over 600 charities. Frowned upon in inner royal circles?

Not affect tourism? You don't think the changing of the guard might look a little silly if they were'n guarding anything?

I see European royalty generally as a tacky remnant of a bygone era.

So you're ok with non-European royalty, why the distinction? What makes them tacky?

Middle Eastern royalty is still absolute monarchy in the direct sense, and not a relic of a bygone era that just wont die out.

I don't like them either, but at least they are what they are.

France got rid of them all.
