The article is a generalization of course, but for the most part, I would say it's pretty accurate for many women (especially NT'ers). Aspies (males and females, both) are different from the norm, obviously. Also, it doesn't account for same sex attraction.

Also, although many women may seek out the masculine energy, there are some that have that masculine energy themselves (tomboys, dominant women), and are seeking out more feminine energy males to balance them out.

Women either want you or they don't.

For someone on the spectrum the article seems like masking which is only going to take it's toll on some.

There is no way on earth I could get a woman who was interested in the above qualities as I don't have them , I can fake it for a bit but it's not me.

Luckily I am in a long term relationship with someone who loves me for what I am although she said I am unlike any other man she has met and she wishes I wasn't so suicidal and depressed.

Sorry to read that SaveFerris. Not nice when your partner says that. Not your fault you are like that. Might be hard for her but blaming you for it is not okay.

You are right in that putting an act on doesn't work. Just be yourself, that is what I also always do. Am always honest, open and myself, almost to a fault.

My girlfriend says she's 51% masculine & that I'm 51% feminine. She wasn't really seeking out feminine energy thou.

I know the basis of the article and that is NT geared.

Same sex attractions have different dynamics. Need an article to cover that.

As for the qualities in the article....of course it makes sense. It's just not appealing to me. Not sure if that's a spectrum issue or just that I need a much deeper connection.

If I were single.....and Alan Harper was a real person....I'd be trying to get a date with him.

Many people don't seek these things out consciously, they just tend to gravitate towards people that fit well with them.

I’m trying to think of things that I’d like in a man: kind, a good listener, a good person with moral values, someone I can connect to, a good friend, and someone who doesn’t mind a fair amount of dog hair everywhere...

What woman wouldn’t want Bill Murray?

I’m basically the female embodiment of Bob from What About Bob.

Everybody really, really liked Bob (except for the shrink, of course!)

I don't hate anybody.

Fnord, I'm frankly disappointed in you. I thought the synopsis was rather lame, and nothing that would encourage me to read further.

Even Freud was unable to convincingly answer "what do women want?" The lesson I take from this is that ya can't reduce this stuff to a simple checklist.

At least it's not another "I can't get a girlfriend" thread, right? ;)

Which hornets nest?

Men who struggle with women?

Women who take offense to articles like this?
