The way to get rid of social awkwardness is to practice talking to anyone who will talk with you...

Hahahahahaha ---- that will perhaps reduce social anxiety but -in my case- it did not reduce social awkwardness. I talk to near EVERYONE (starting again at age 16, when the mood strikes) and I am just as awkward as I was decades ago! Granted, in a different way probably, but awkward. I get called "cute" a lot. I'm the "cutest" near 50-year-old on my block. I am glad I found a life partner who likes awkward. So like BTDT said, get out there a practice and if the awkwardness doesn't go away, you can hone your awkward. ;) ---- see that there? "hone" sounds like "own" your awkward. Both apply.

It's a tad more complicated than that unfortunately. The kinds of women who attend (and participate in) college and pro sporting events, for example, usually aren't interested in hard rock concerts and pro wrestling events and vice versa :P

So you're looking for someone who shares all of your interests? That may indeed be very difficult to find. It's much easier, of course, to find a person who shares some but not all of your interests. So you may need to prioritize and decide which of your interests are most important to you to be shared with your partner.

I can comfortably go through life without having ever had or will ever have a partner, just more stress otherwise, you gotta sacrifice your free time, independence, leisure time and other alone time you cherish if you wish to be with someone. I already find it emotionally draining to deal with people as part of my work life so i don't need any added stress of a relationship which might just push me over the edge and cause irreversible damage like losing job or more frequent meltdowns.

Also, how do I even get to the point of talking with women, when women made it clear they are not even willing to talk to me?I'm not overweight or anything,so that's not a problem.

How have you been going about looking for women to talk to? What are your interests/hobbies? And have you tried participating in groups (e.g. on Meetup.com) of women who share them? (Of course you should wait for the coronavirus panic to pass before going to any in-person events, but hopefully you might be able to find some local groups that are currently holding online chats in the meantime?)

Here's some advice on how to talk to people and keep a conversation going.

Let's say you see someone and you're both at a Green Day concert. The way you can open them is asking something related to Green Day; for instance, you can ask them what's their favorite song? And if they say "well my favorite song is American Idiot" you can choose to respond back either through another question or through a statement.

The way to keep a conversation going is simple. You listen to how someone responds and then you either ask a question or say a statement in regards to what they're talking about. For instance if you're talking to someone and they say "I went to college in Texas." take the word Texas or college and then ask a question or say a statement through that topic. An example might be "What college in Texas did you go to" or "What did you study in Texas?" or a statement response might look like "I used to live in Texas, the Dallas Mavericks are my favorite team."

The majority of conversations you have with strangers will die out pretty quickly; usually a minute or less. It's hard to connect with someone if you have a brief 20 second conversation; so if you really want to form a connection with someone, you need to be able to hold a conversation for at least 3-5 minutes. There are several ways you can do that. Try to get the person to talk about themselves; you can do this by asking them questions about themselves by what they deem important. For instance, if you know the person is big into Pokemon, then you can ask them questions related to Pokemon. Another way is to try and find common interests with one another so that you two will have things to talk about.

For the record, I am a 27-year-old woman who is a virgin, has never kissed anyone besides her parents, has never been on a date, heck, hasn't even had anyone who's seen her in person even look at her twice. It's not just men who have trouble in this department.

But then again, I'm a nonromantic asexual, so maybe I don't really count since I don't want a romantic relationship in the first place. Will I be alone forever? Yes, most likely, but I'll also probably be happier that way.

I have never had any other feeling on this matter.

If you are female and open to having a male autistic/Aspie partner, you will almost certainly be able to find men who will want you (if you look in the right places, at least). Your problem will be choosing one with whom you are truly compatible.

As you mostly likely have heard before , one never knows , who or what maybe around the next corner. just be observant for what corners to turn ?
And even during slow periods on this planet..... you will always count, as this has seemed a good place to voice decent or supportive opinions or even those opinions that may need support ?

Yep, I'm keeping an open mind. It's entirely possible that I just haven't started feeling romantic love yet, since my social development is off, or I just haven't found the right person who will make me feel it. It's a possibility, just not something I'm counting on for the time being.
