please please do not invite other aspies to engage their stalkers especially on a dating level .
That is enticing someone to engage in very possibly Dangerous activities . Stalkers wear different hats and if they are, already feeling poorly about these stalkers aswell . If anything do the best you can to protect yourself from them . If you can get photos of them without engaging them , it might help you remember their faces. Be careful .

I got ahead of myself. Just stay away from them, if they're not stalkers they're bad news. And the thread is not pointless. You had a bad feeling about something and shared it, you're supposed to do that.

NT means "neurotypical."

On WrongPlanet, it usually means someone who is not on the Autistic Spectrum.

I believe this was the definition of those who started using the term "neurotypical." Of course, like any other word, its meaning could expand in dynamic ways.

Neurotypical is a bit of a skewed word to call people not on the autism spectrum, as though it's implying that everyone in the world is normal except autistics, which I feel is offensive. Which is why I call anyone not on the spectrum ''allistic''. I use the term ''neurotypical'' to describe people who weren't born with any mental disorders that affect intellectual, social or emotional development. I don't know about mental health issues such as bipolar, because usually people aren't born with those and a person with that can be more or less ''normal'' when on medication.
But things that can't be ''cured'' through meds or therapy (like intellectual disability, downs syndrome, autism, etc) are not neurotypical. Anxiety and depression is common in humans so having those disorders alone doesn't make a neurotypical not neurotypical, especially if caused by environment, such as abusive relationships or loss.

Stalkers can be NT, as not all NTs are well-adjusted and some NTs can develop an obsession that makes them seem like a stalker but are actually harmless. Of course, the person being stalked is not to know that.

Hmmmm......Obssession versus Stalking...? Generally Stalking is quite intentional with intent to intimidate or cause fear ....and etc./// Obssession probably much less so.

According to psychologist Dr Michael Zona, "The preferred victim of stalkers, Zona says, is not a stunning beauty, but a "girl next door" type, a woman who appears sweet, approachable, and engaging. In the mind of a delusional stalker, it might not seem implausible that such a woman might want to be in a relationship with him"

Thanks.

No, it's not normal and they probably aren't NTs. Rather, stalking behavior would be a form of anti-social personality disorder traits. They could also be due to other mental health issues as well. That said, they could also stalk you because someone put them up to it.

When you said "they probably aren't NTs" do you mean they are on autism spectrum? Or do you mean they have conditions that have nothing to do with autism?

I noticed that usually people mean by "NT" simply someone who aren't autistic. Although I realized that logically thats not what the abbreviation says. It says "typical" and there are plenty of ways not to be typical without being autistic.

No, I am referring to anti-social personality disorders which goes hand in hand with psychopathy. There could also be other mental disorders or brain damage that causes delusions and other related issues.

As for autistics stalking, they would probably give off the representation because some of them may have trouble understanding boundaries and unwritten social rules which is what gets them into trouble. Sometimes, it depends on the individuals facial expressions and body language that could look off putting.

Well, I don't think I'd take my chances either way...what happens when their obsession rejects them? Either way following someone around is weird and creepy regardless of what the initial intent is.

The best thing to do is document everything they are doing, also have some cameras at your house. Also, call the police and make sure you file a report and then get a restraining order.

Some Counties in midwest will not recognize , Single Womens right to get a restraining order,
Against . On their own . Sounds crazy but observed all the single women in a specific courtroom
attempting to get protection . But the judge denied every single one of them .
It was astounding.. It was beyond my understanding. But she could not even get the cops , she had reported these situations to show up at her hearing . But i had showed up to support her.

It's not normal and not okay.

The best way to handle stalkers is to disengage. Give them as little response as possible and be totally neutral with them. Giving them negative feedback can frustrate them and possibly make them unhinged. Giving them positive feedback could deepen their infatuation with you and make them feel justified in trying to advance further.

If they continue to harass you, call the police or whatever authority figures you can.

In Australia there's lots of information on getting restraining orders against intimate partners or family members who can be easily identified for the police.

But it's really really hard to make a case for stalking against a stranger. Especially if the stalker is clever.
You need to photograph the person on your property
Be able to clearly identify the individual
Assuming the police can make an ID (not guaranteed) then the person will get contacted and make up some excuse so just get a warning

This thread is pointless and I shouldn't have bothered posting it, because I can't actually date people. I've tried. Relationships require some something that I don't have, whatever it is. I've never had it.

If you are concerned about someone stalking you - report them to the authorities. The relevant authorities can verify or disprove any claim you make.

For example, if you think someone is in your city - authorities can verify that. If you have a specific time or location you are concerned about - everyone is GPS tracked by their phone basically & also, flight records can be checked to prove or disprove a claim if you are worried about someone flying from overseas to stalk you.

Authorities might check police records also, of the person you are making the claim against. If they do & the person has no history of criminal conduct, and you do, then you are probably imagining it.

If you have the resources - get CCTV installed. If not, perhaps try to move somewhere that has that if you become distressed about this.

Have your phone handy if anyone is lurking outside to take a photo & then take the photo to the police.

I have had experience with being stalked - I have CCTV on the property I live in, so that not only anything can be recorded outside of the property, but also anything going out from the inside can be recorded, so that if ever my (online) stalkers fabricate my whereabouts, I am always accountable on video.
