I suppose...

Well, I didn't mean to offend anyone or anything by posting this... I just wanted some advice. Sorry.

Nobody is offended. I posted before, BTW, you might have missed it because sunshower hit the page break.

I went back and saw your post.

I will definitely try that advice this weekend when I see her. At best, she could say yeah. At worst, she could say no and we can remain in the best friend zone.

Okay, I forgot to mention, for some reason I lack what normal people could call shame.

Being "different" has made me the target of so much teasing, outright cruelty, that I became immune to shame at a very young age. My father (also very likely with AS) taught me to never be bothered by what other people think of you. You can take their opinions under consideration, but you should never let it bother you. Perhaps that is the source of my arrogance.

Anyways, shortening the story, because of the lack of shame, I sometimes forget that other people do have that, and then my advice will not be as tactful as it could be.

The two other points of advice where much more serious than the initial comment.

I hope I have been of some help at the very least and I truly do think you should not let yourself be bothered by other people. (BTW, I am not entirely true to this statement, but that's for another)

No one is being negative just for being nagative ...we are just telling him that d1's idea might cause him troubles.

^ know her first , know how trustworthy she's first .. you can't hand a recorded thought to a stranger just like that , it might be abused.

LOL I'd say. :D

Well I once pretty much grew some balls (for the want of an equivalent female term) and asked my best friend out, and he did say no. But it wasn't the end of the world, and he was so understanding about it that we remained best friends as though nothing had changed (not that i can guarantee this will happen in the case of rejection lol, but it never hurts to try)

As far as offending goes, I can only speak for myself but it takes a HECK of a lot to offend me. :D And nothing you've said here has been offensive in the slightest, really. So don't worry so much. :D

You’re a better person for trying. If you think about it most people are going to end up rejecting more people than they don't. Even if they don't explicitly do it, they are doing it by default with selection. So you can't expect them all to say 'yes', but it isn't such a bad thing. Don't wallow too much (I guilty as charged). If you are positive about it, you will get over it quicker.
