Since I'm not used to it, I procrastinate in answering since I have no clue how to procede.

I would post a picture of myself, but I have no idea how to do it here. Some places let you browse your options and then link, but its differant here.

Does anybody else ever get intimidated easily by the opposite gender?

To some extent yes.

But it depends since I'd have to get an understanding of that person. I really am not attracted or appealed by the idea of pursuing a romantic relationship with a complete stranger.

You claim you're not use to this which is understandable, so you're going to have to know what it is that scares you and understand your boundaries as well as a guy's. Communication is very important and you do not have to go full speed as the other person's doing. In fact, I've seen many fast relationships headed for destruction because of this urge just for that one urge of "love" which is basically lust.

Don't be shy in asking about that person. If they get angry or want to rush things, then it's a red flag headed for disaster.

I do actually. I even asked friend who I had known for about 5 years out for coffee but never got the nerve to call her, and that was not even a "date"

Would a teleconference qualify as a date?

I understand. The complexities of the whole online dating thing usually send me into a minor meltdown, (I never know what to do, if I'd be attracted to the other person or not, etc etc) so I tend to avoid it whenever I can.

Thus; friends online, potential relationships RL.
