That book 'Toxic People' really makes me think that anyone can write books nowadays.

When those sites list the "types of personalities to avoid", they should just say "stay away from people with personality disorders and other mental problems".

Also just because a person might be unhealthy for one person, doesn't mean they are bad for another person. It has a lot to do with how compatible people are with each other. We all can have some of these traits at any given time, it's just when these traits are severe, or extreme, is when the problems arise. The main thing is, to listen to your gut feeling about people. If they make you miserable, drain you emotionally, or you think there's something about them that isn't quite right, listen to what your instincts are telling you.

Also, Narcissism, or Narcissistic Personality Disorder covers a lot of these toxic personality types.

I myself probably fit into any of these at some point.

I am a female and I believe my personality contains least two of these undesirable traits lol. No one's perfect, but this list is good as a point of reference. You should find a person with the least of these qualities as possible :)

The article what was pretty much bunk. A lot of these yahoo articles are really over-broad. I mean everyone can demonstrate some of these characteristics. You can't really condense the complexities of a manipulative person or relationship into a simple category "to be avoided." I'm not really a fan of pop psych, probably because I'm a Depressive Debbie Downer.

I fit the chracteristics of 3,5,8 sadly. I disagree with this article in saying to stay away from these people because a lot of the people you will meet are within at least one of the catagories. For instance with the people Im around, I've found a lot of 6s, I mean their nice people but you dont know if their niceness is always sincere.

We are more prone to attracting the narcissistic, manipulative attentionwhores.
We listen more, we care in a detached way and we don't demand things...

So yeah.

Any personalities you would add?

#9: The Asperger' Syndrome type of personality : They just suck and can bore you to death

Why they are toxic: because there are more than 6 billions of people on earth, then why sticking with someone who has such rare mental or personality or 'whatever it is' case that might has a genetic component that might affect badly your future offspring?
