Hi LunaticCentruroides

I would imagine you are the "mix" like me (ASD + ADD/ADHD). We are the "drones" of the human race (according to my theory). Unlike many aspies, we are HIGHLY interactive with people.

Hi, mate.
I like your avatar, btw.

Yes,
You two aspies are unusually extroverted.
And I find this fascinating.

I have had the same experience with women. Fortunately for me being a guy, most women are subtle... so I can generally ignore it until it all blows up (maybe not THAT fortunately). Don't get me started on the women who think I am way too into them! Evidently... "I flirt"... news to me.

The problem is:
You are open and honest.
"How Dare You".

It is truly a curse though because I want platonic female friends! I feel uncomfortable around most men. I remember hearing some guy complaining about being in the "friend zone" with women. I said... "that would be so awesome!". He gave me that uncomfortable look that means I said something wrong.

Most single people don't want platonic relationships, based on my experience.
It gets in the way of their "Mate-Hunting" activities.
What can you do?
Most people are driven by their more instinctual functions.
Such is life. <shrug>

I truly understand how you feel. My only advice would be to set up front boundaries and communicate clearly what you want (although NT people tell so many (white?) lies, they may not believe you). You may be able to find asexual men who want nothing to do with sex. I have one good lesbian friend :)

I agree with what you are saying, up to a point.
I believe LC would like an intimate partner who is also a friend.

I can imagine.

Yeah, he's pretty laid back and very positive.

In contrast to a couple of guys I got to know over the past few years who you never knew where you stood with them. Like you could say the wrong thing at any time and that was tiring.

I can't be bothered with folks you have to walk on eggshells round.

He's easy to talk to as well. Just really easy-going, but has standards too. It's an ideal balance.

I find most NTs are hyper-sensitive.
I avoid NTs wherever possible, these days.

And if they do get offended due to a misunderstanding, I don't give a crap these days.
It is *empowering*. 8)

I’m an easygoing guy.

My wife doesn’t know that, though.

Yes, you are.

If I ever get reincarnated as a woman in my next life,
I will come a-knockin' at your front door.

Your wife doesn't know how good she has it.

I suspect he may be laid back enough not to care that i own my house and not be intimidated by my job. Last guy seemed to resent my level of "success" like it was an affront to his masculinity.

But I'm still old, so this is all moot.

So it’s presumably temporary.
Wish my situation was only temporary

I would never bother with a woman that owns her own house. Not cause I’m resentful of her success but in my experience such women want nothing to do with a guy who doesn’t have the same and see men like me as mooches.
If the roles were reversed I wouldn’t care that woman doesn’t have job or own a house. But that’s normal gender situation. Never heard a housewife called a mooch for example.
Seems only men can be a mooch. Probably cause society says men have to be the provider.

Society is accepting of older women dating younger men so you should go for it if you get along.

As long he's not 37-38  ; Sharon got the impression that I am somehow "interested" in the OP. I am not, I pass.

Why not? Cause her statement about 10%?

I’d date her if given chance, it might not work out but that’s the point of dating.
But she probably wouldn’t see me as good enough so I wouldn’t try, I wouldn’t be friends with her in person but could be text friends. Such friendships meet limited needs though.

I couldn’t be in person friends with single attractive female. And it doesn’t work the other way either as I found out.

Another thing I’ve noticed about women vs men thst makes it hard to being friends with women is women constantly mention their bf while hanging out, guys don’t
If they do it’s to gloat about sex with them. For most part when I hang with guys we just do the activity or talk about politics, guns, sports(meh), video games or cars(meh).
With women they always mention their bf. I think maybe it’s so I know I’m not got a chance with them but even long time female gamer friends do it. All it does is make me feel like crap. I know I’m single forever Ever and never going to have what they have, I use video games and other activities to distract from it, so I don’t want to hear how great their bf is how how wonderful their relationship or is how great the sex with him is.

So I prefer female friends via tex to share my emotional side and issues with by male friends for hanging out with.

Most women that do this do so to show they are not available, yes, based on my experience.
I have had this done to me quite a few times also, despite the fact I wasn't interested in a relationship.
I was simply being open and honest.
It is annoying, but it is understandable.

It’s already been engrained into me I’m nit good enough for any woman, so it’s not needed. I wouldn’t dare ask woman out even if she was overtly flirting with me.

Only place I bother is dating sites even then I won’t swipe like on 90% of women.
Pretty women, thin women, successful women, travelering women, etc.
so,e would say what if a thin woman liked you but that’s impossible

It's really not seen as normal for older women to date younger men. How many movies do you see where the leading man is years older than his love interest. I watched A walk in the woods recently. Robert Redford's wife was about 30 years younger than him!

As the OP gets older she can probably make friends with younger men because they don't see older women as datiing options. That's one of the good things about getting older. You're not seen as a stupid little girl anymore. I've had a couple of younger male friends, but they're too busy with their girlfriends now to hang out lol.

That is the problem.
That is what happens overwhelmingly.

I hate to think what a psychologist makes out of his Rorschach test. 8O

Quote:
The Rorschach test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both. Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning. It has been employed to detect underlying thought disorder, especially in cases where patients are reluctant to describe their thinking processes openly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rorschach_test

I think if you have a younger man interested in you then at least give them a chance, don't just invalidate the possibility of a relationship because of social norms, these are the same social norms that have been playing against you so don't give in.
