Virginity is like an awful, smelly piece of garbage you carry around. You have to throw it away as soon as possible, by any means possible, otherwise it'll attract flies and scare away any potential mates, not to mention the stench. :eew:

But a topic like this reminds me of why I hate people. They always have to assume that someone is experienced past their mid teens and if not then they are wierd. They have no idea what people like us have to go through. I wish DNA wasn't controlling us so much and we could actually do something else besides think like monkeys for once.

EXACTLY. I've gotten called creepy a few times because I'm a virgin. Which just doesn't make sense. I'd think the guy that flits from girl to girl thinking with his wang would be the one who would get called creepy. But society is balls, so...

Because it is a rite of passage that most people have found someone agreeable for sex and have had sex at that point. If you haven't, there is something wrong with you. No one you knew in the past wanted you enough for sex, there is a good chance you should be avoided. That's the general mindset.

It's the same reason women may be attracted to men in relationships - because they've already been vetted as relationship material.

I honestly thought about mine like that though. This was back in the 70s so remember the era please, it's not like it is now. When I was 15, a close guy friend and I did it so that we wouldn't be virgins anymore. That is not the guy who became my bf later, although we are still good friends and keep in touch.

It was actually very simple to get it set up. We talked on the phone every night, him about the girls he liked and me about the boys I liked. I said "Hey look, Wendy is about to do i with Mark. I want to do it bfore she does. You never did it either so if we do, we are both ahead of Wendy" He said "Thats an idea, stay after school tomorrow" I said "Right on!"

This. It's not a big deal to be a virgin or save yourself for the right person. Just make sure you're having sex to make love rather than to gain a status or "get something you never had." Believe me, it will still affect the other person if all sex was "Wham, bam, thank you ma'am!"

Currently, virginity does not seem to be a stigma for women. In fact, it can be seen as a good thing. For men, on the other hand, it is a stigma, and it's rather prominent. Saying you've never had sex after 18 will elicit responses like "forfeited on life, then?" and "won't happen ever, then." I've heard about it a lot from a lot of people, and a lot of men I know want to have sex just to get rid of that.

18? Rlly?
I guess I'm doomed

To speak more seriously, if that's what most people you know think then... I can understand why you'd think virginity is a stigma to get rid of. But keep in mind that would be a social construct instead of an universal truth, I see nothing intrinsically wrong with virginity, and I wouldn't think some guy who had sex just once just to get rid of it would be much more experienced than a virgin anyway.

Also, that doesn't hold true for all communities, or all social circles within those communities, or all people belonging to these social circles. I've read several opinions saying that they wouldn't mind a virgin too, so there.

It is irrelevant if it is true for the social circles you will be involved in.

Positivism isn't infinitely useful. If positivity contradicts truth, positivity does not become truth.
And the truth is, a lot of guys suffer from this and have to put up with it.

It can become a stigma for women too. As soon as I turned 18, I was one of the few who hadn't done that yet - and there was definitely a lot of stigma and some bullying and old lady cat jokes attached to that.

Because the majority of girls I knew had already gotten that over and done with between the ages of 14-17, 18 at the latest, those of us who were 18 and older, it definitely wasn't seen as a good thing.

If you are in search of a meaningful relationship, your partner should understand that you have no experience and be fine with it. If they are disinterested in you based on the fact that you have not had sex, than you might want to ask yourself "Why am I wanting a relationship with this person?" If you only want to have sex with no emotional attachment involved, by all means go get a hooker lol......just be smart with it. I rushed into loosing my virginity just to say I wasn't a virgin and I regret doing that. I just screwed the first girl that was willing and she was nasty. A trout smelled better sorry to say!

Thank you for backing me up.

Close this thread. Its pointless to continue the discussion of complaining about being a virgin. I am a virgin and no big deal! You whiners have poor attitude. Settle down and do something about your life.

Because she'd:
1. Be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if she showed any interest in me;
2. Be the only suitable girl in a sizeable radius. I have no high demands; this neighbourhood apparently lacks young women altogether, and the young women who go to nearby universities are hideously posh and exclusively attracted to guys who look exactly, and this is literal, like this:

http://vorige.nrc.nl/multimedia/archive ... 80205a.jpg

Also, you need to have a ridiculous accent that almost creates the illusion that you're aristocratic.
Best thing is - the guy in the picture found out in a funny way that most royalty and nobility are the antithesis of guys in universities.
