Only place I bother is dating sites even then I won’t swipe like on 90% of women.
Pretty women, thin women, successful women, travelering women, etc.
so,e would say what if a thin woman liked you but that’s impossible

Isn't it anonymous so what is there to lose to swipe right on a few more? one of them might click when they see your photo.

I think if you have a younger man interested in you then at least give them a chance, don't just invalidate the possibility of a relationship because of social norms, these are the same social norms that have been playing against you so don't give in.

But just hide your credit card.

Nah, I've added him live n social media and he doesn't comment or message me, so I don't think it's anything more than a passing interest. If I'm around, I'm fun, but I'm not a serious Candidate.

I’ve been dating older women for “too long.” My wife is 12 years older than me. Life isn’t the movies.

I wouldn’t date someone much older than myself now were I single. I’ll be 60 in 6 1/2 months.

Unless the 70 year old were a dreamboat (which could happen).

I wouldn’t strenuously object if some 45 year old showed interest in me. Or even 35.

And Hurtloam....you’re not even close to being “old.” I don’t think you’ve even hit 40 yet.

If that avatar is a selfie,
I reckon she is more like 18.
Then again,
It may be an old picture.

If they are, then she should hide her entire purse.

Ha ha, I wonder why they assumed that.

I'm successful for an aspie and for someone with my health issues.

I'm quite proud of the fact I can manage to hold down a full time job. When I was younger it didn't seem like I was going to be able to. Even now I think that after my student loan is paid off it would be better for my health to reduce my hours if possible.

I struggled financially for years. I could only get entry level jobs. I said to my sister that I can't believe how much I'm earning now. She was like wow. I told her how much and she said, I think that's pretty much the average wage these days. Oh well. Its good enough for me, once my student loan is paid the only debt I'll have is the mortgage. And I can now afford to have a pet!

Theres no way I'll ever be in management. I'd hate it and my time management skills are rubbish.

But a younger man is just starting his life. Still in entry level jobs, possibly considering college now he knows what he wants to do. He's in the same place I was at that age. Would he want someone who'd already done that journey? Or does he want to journey with someone?

Anyway, I brought this up because I always liked older men, now my age men. They have a different perspective. More level headed... for the most part. Sp I was just saying I get where the OP is coming from.

I'll be 40 next year.

I have sciatica, possible endometriosis, I'm tired all the time and I look older with sunken tired eyes. I'm not a catch.

Thanks Pepe :) I find that I relate better with animals than people... If I had to choose an animal that I relate well with... it is a bear.

And I find this fascinating.

Most people of my cognitive type (ECU) are never diagnosed because of this. We can pass relatively well but the same issues are all there. When I lived in Japan as a part of the JET program, there were teachers of Japanese descent. They had the highest rate of quitting, depression or even suicide. They pass visually but when they speak in halting Japanese, they were treated horribly by the Japanese. This is my experience... when someone finally realizes that I can't figure out what it is they are communicating, the result is devastating.

I mean like who can keep up with all of the silences, half truths and fabrications in the world of NTs? I have no choice but to be honest and open, lol.

What can you do?
Most people are driven by their more instinctual functions.
Such is life. <shrug>

Unfortunately this happens with me with married women and I am married, gah!

I agree with what you are saying, up to a point.
I believe LC would like an intimate partner who is also a friend.

For someone like me, sleeping with a person is easy... friendship is really really hard. In order to make it work, friendship must be the goal. This is what gets me so twisted around... even IF I want to have sex with someone... friendship is the goal. I find it utterly confusing that people feign friendship to get sex. I have found that being in a relationship where there is no sexual pressure is absolutely liberating :)

I am married to my best friend... friendship first is the best.

I used to say this:

First my genitals get involved, then my heart... finally my brain arrives on the scene and says "What the hell are you two doing?"

I involved my brain first this time and I ended up with a wonderful partner! (a fellow aspie who is my cognitive type)

So, agreed... LC deserves an intimate friend and friends who do not pressure her into something she does not want.
She deserves mutuality and honesty, as do we all :)

Could you elaborate on what you mean here?
