REAL Aspies huh?

So when I smashed my head repeatedly into my steering wheel in a panic attack (don't worry, I was in my driveway at the time) that wasn't real? Getting fired from my job for my poor social skills, nope, not real either. Having to leave my fiance because he and his family couldn't accept an Aspergers girl into their family? Fake!

I've only JUST started getting a real social life. Why? Because I went out and got it. Just because we decided to DO something with our Aspergers doesn't make it any less real. I can never have tea or coffee again because caffiene affects me poorly (and guess what, they don't make the non-caffiene Mountain Dew in Australia anymore  so I can never have my favourite drink again), I can never drink alcohol because of the negative affect, plus the fact that I am absolutely terrified of the stuff. But I get through.

EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE on this planet has problems, from the Donald Trumps of the world to the poor starving kids in Africa. It's how we deal with those problems that makes us what we are. I always want to give up. Always. I want to die so badly sometimes, because I can't get to Brisbane where I really want to be (current job won't transfer me even though they promised, and finding a new job in Brisbane is hard), I reckon sometimes the only way I will get to Brisbane permanently is to take up employment as fish food at the bottom of the Brisbane River. But Joel would never give up like that, and I want more than anything to be like him because he is strong, resilient, committed and has more heart than most. Even though he never gets credit for what he does he keeps on going, and I want to be like that. I won't give up. Ever.

No excuses. I get where I want to be or die trying. There is no failure.

MR20, I have every sympathy with you and as far as im concerned everyone else should be giving you the same sympathy as what i do. People like you and me know what its like to be REAL aspie and never find a long-term girlfriend. There are too many faux-aspies and NT's flooding wrongplanet.net and this is the reason for so many unsympathetic replies.

Faux-aspies? Because we have girl/boyfriends? Wow. Last I checked one's romantic status doesn't change a diagnosis. Also, I have plenty of problems in other areas. I obsess over things and worry way too much.

NorwichAspie is no longer a member of this forum, and MR20 asked for a voluntary suspension, so i am locking the thread to prevent further pointless arguments or advice at absent members.
