Ew... Ok, who let the knuckle-dragging savages in here?

Why is it ok and people fighting for women to be accepted to have different body types, but not men :(

There has been some movement for acceptance of different types of males aswell but unfortunately less discussed. Maybe its because men don't feel the need to discuss it (similar to not discussing male suicide rates which are the the highest). Either way it should be talked about more

Not to mention, there is a social undercurrent that a woman's primary "value" in society is in popping-out kids; therefore, her top priority should be her physical attractiveness to males.

Hence, the focus on correcting aforesaid attitudes in regards to women and girls.

Because, in my opinion, there is a movement, however small, but maybe growing bigger, to disenfranchise men. I think the end goal is to have men die off the planet.

Sorry, it does suck worse being a guy sometimes.

Men are practical creatures. Many men would prefer to talk about which diet they'll go on to lose weight.

There are some men who just accept that they are overweight. These men don't need a male fat acceptance movement because they have self-acceptance and they don't need approval from everyone else.

I'm a little overweight, and more than a little lazy.

I hate talking about diets, unless they are actually working for me.

Fair enough but do you need a cultural movement to praise you for your choices?

If only there were more women like you.

I'm so sick of the women I date being shocked when I tell them I don't plan on having kids.

They act like that's their main purpose in life.

Because men are seen as the providers for family. Like they have to devote their lives to fathering kids instead of living their life for their own purpose.

There's all this talk about how manly it is to sacrifice for your kids. Do overtime for your kids. I'd rather do overtime for myself. I'd rather dedicate my life to having a good career, not raising a litter of ungrateful kids. Yet society thinks this is selfish.

I don't need any "cultural movement."

I'm my own man.

So women are just supposed to sit around and be protected?

Anyone who thinks that has never seen the lengths a strong woman will go to in order to protect herself or her children.

Ironically, feminists tend to agree with the misogynists that women are incapable of protecting themselves.

Is feminism just another form of misogyny? Another way of controlling women instead of letting them be free to make their own choices?

Women frequently protect their children far better than men.

Can we class theses as third wave or extreme. Personally I believe (along with other pro choice feminists) a woman has the right to do whatever she wants. If she wants to be protected then good for her, if she doesn't then good for her aswell.

Not always true I have a few obese male friends who would benefit greatly from self acceptance. After all self acceptance helps to loose weight :)

I think it's a myth that beautiful women can "have their pick" of guys. You really can't make an assumption about what someone's life is like just based on their looks. Someone who is very photogenic will undoubtedly have an advantage in online dating, but they wouldn't be online in the first place if they were getting loads of dates in real life. I am around actors all day, some of whom are extremely attractive, and they certainly haven't had more boyfriends/girlfriends than anyone else. Finding a relationship is difficult for everyone.

Anyone here seen the show Girls? The drop-dead gorgeous Marnie definitely didn't have folks queueing up to go out with her.... the only men she ended up getting with were weird losers.
