Seemed to me she was looking for a assistant - someone to get her out of the house, open doors and handing her drinks. Not a partner/boyfriend/husband.

By 'assistant' you mean 'enabler', don't you?

I meant like a Chapparone/Guardian/support-person, like a person the state can provide you with if you're disabled. I'm sorry if it was wrong to say assistant, English is my second language.

I know what you mean entirely, but I'd say what she really wants is someone who will support and reinforce her limiting behaviour instead of helping her to get help for her extreme OCD.

Ooooh enabler! Yeah, exactly! I agree, she did not seem motivated to work on her intimacy issues at all, and she said it was so nice that he could open the door for her "since her mother usually did that". I do not think she will get better anytime soon with that attitude.

I liked her

I agree that she should have been trying to work on her OCD issues though

I wash my hands a lot - whenever I touch something I think might have germs on it,
like the bin or if I drop something on the floor or after stroking my cat
and don't like people I'm not in a relationship with making physical contact with me
but it's not anywhere near as extreme as she has it

It's obvious all her anxiety about life in general is being sublimated into the OCD as a way
of giving herself the semblance of control over her environment

It's an extreme form of wanting control

I think if she continues to see that man she'll have problems fending him off as
he evidently wanted to jump on her! lol

is OCD almost like an addiction? She can't let go of control. Feeling people's warmth up close or is it her nose that is sensitive? I wonder how she reacts when she has alcohol in her.

it's not an addiction imo, it's a necessity to feel you are keeping yourself 'safe' from the germs

Alcohol might help her to relax more but I bet she doesn't drink

She was repression personified!

Actually, last night's episode was a chance to 'revisit' Series 1 Episode 4. I suspect there's probably an update in it as well. What I could do is watch it and give details?
