Uh...not so much. Most "regular" people I know look up to me because I am more intelligent than them. In face I have many girlfriends love the fact unlike most guys I can extend a conversation past pop culture and sports. The fact I read is also benificial.
your experience of people respecting you and looking up to for being intelligent would be dramatically different if you were intelligent and female.
this has to do with your experiences and by no mean represents the norm. I know very intelligent women who are respected and admired. Time to let go take the blinders off and stop making excuses for your insecurities. I don't mean to be rude but if you can't be who you are due to insecurities you have to get over it because in the end it just makes you come off as a victim and noone wants to be around a victim.

I was referring to artist. Shes impling that she faces discrimination because shes a smart woman and that smart women are looked down upon which I believe is very far from the truth. I atleast know it is in my experiences as the smart ones are usually the most sought after and the most respected.
i'm sorry, but how could you possibly know whether i have faced discrimination in my lifetime or not? i grew up in a small and ignorant town, in a poor neighbourhood, and went to a poor school. so yeah, when you're smart and it looks like you may just be able to escape that place when you grow up (and especially if you are a girl)...you are hated. so don't presume to tell me what has or has not happened to me, you pompous, self-important ignorant buffoon.

You brought it upon yourself to becoem incredibly biased. First off you are attacking your own kin. We (AS nation) all have been discriminated against because of a lack of understanding. So step back and consider that for a bit.
And last I checked you were not black. So stop talking about racisim like you know a thing or two. I have been to places where blacks are in a lot of pain and poverty, you know what, they don't b***h about their situation, they just pray to live past 21. The farthest thing from their minds is racism. They are more concerned with trying to survive.

I have been told by many of my home boys that they were taught by their mothers if a woman hits you, fair game. if you have never been a woman in a relationship with a man who is not only less intellignet than you but also really insecure about it, then you can't imagine the dangerous situations that can arise from that. And if you have never been with a woman who is less intelligent and feels inferior to the point of cheating on you with some dumb ass frat boy because of these insecurities (ripping your heart out through your stomach when you find out from a mutual friend) and then continues to make you feel liek sh** as opposed to talking it out like you were raised to believe is how true relationships are supposed to be handles with maturity and respect, don't asume everything is BLACK & WHITE
i can because i have been there. ditto time and again. I don't make the same mistake twice, and if I do I certainly don't let it create a huge amassed group bias which destroys many chances of personal growth and success
As for being from a small town. I grew up on an island with a population of less than 20k. My graduating class had I think 50-60 kids. So just because you grew up in a small place does not mean you get to use it to validate evey little emotional responce. I got over my past and so can you. And I also left the island and moved to Arizona ending up in a whole new world of experiences and people. And I know many women who did the same only to come back the the island and raise their kids where they grew up. You are only as crippled as you let yourslef be. If I had listened to everything I was told growing up, I would still be hospitalized or sitting in a room of severely handicapped people, or even worse a piece of scum living off of SSI (note: not meant to associate any people who truly need SSI more the people who do not and are just to lazy to help themselves)
