But it could also be because I tend to define a MILF as literally as the acryonym describes. Like if someone was only 30, but their kid had already had kids, and the 30 year old was someone I'd approach for that kind of behavior, she'd be a GILF. lol

8O Jeezus. A granny at 30??? Scary...brings to mind Jerry Springer et al. My brother-in-law to be (my sister's fiancé) just became a Grandpa at 44 when his daughter got preggers at 15 and I still consider that young and joke when I call him Gramps.

I take MILF literally, too. It doesn't seem like an age thing. Cougar is somewhat repellent to me as it feels derogatory. I think of it as describing a woman between 45 and 55 but I have a hard time accepting the predatory idea behind the term as that implies that the man is defenseless, which of course is rarely the case.

I think of it as a derogatory term as well, which it is. As for women being predators, they sure as hell can be. It doesn't mean though, that all guys with cougars are defenseless. Most people are NTs don't forget, and know the game. So, guys most guys bedding cougars figure they've got it made, which they have. Free lessons.

But don't forget that there are many guys not so hip to the game and women predators, be they cougars or just your garden variety disturbed users can really f*** up unsuspecting guys. I have an extremely intelligent male friend who is a professor and he's been taken in by women like this twice.

1) old enough to be the guy's mother
2) why, are all the young men coming after you?

1) What if the mother had a kid at a really young age?
2) Nope, all is good right now and I am moving soon, so not a chance would I get into anything right now.
But I have only been with guys younger then me, (except for the first guy and he was my age),
and because of that 'friends' and others labelled me a cougar.
It made no sense to me, because I was not pursuing them.

a) kinda irrelevant when she has or hasn't had kids.
what i meant by being old enough t be the guy's mother is that like if you're in roughly the same age range/generation as their mother.

b) And if they're old enough to be legally having sex, then they're roughly 15-20 (depending on the state or country).

c) so basically if the age gap is 15-20 years or more, that pretty much qualifies as cougar status.
some might argue a smaller age gap can qualify, but i believe in the "old enough to be their mother rule." :P

d) & oh, cool. Where you moving to?

a) Think of what you are saying, and think about the age some girls have/are having children, then think in the future

My bio-mother had me at 16 years of age but I am female..
The teen pregnancy rate is dropping in Canada, compared to the incline of 1970's to ~2005, but it still happens, NOT as bad as the US, but still..

so a 15 year old has a boy, when the boy is 15 years old the mother would be 30 years old. A female 30 yrs old (with no morals) could have sex with that boy in some of the states - legally and by this 'rule' logic I guess.

In a couple states the legal age is 14 years old for guys and they can be younger, depending on the age of the partner.
So again to the 'old enough to be their mother..
14 yr old mother, double the child age to make it legal in some states, mother would be 28, the 14 year old boy, and a 28 year old female or older (with no morals), could still legally have sex and it would fit both the laws and the 'rule'

Can you see what I mean? At some point someone might need to use their own, personal morals or call it better judgement. Even if the laws and the rules apply in their 'favour' so to speak.

The US also has a law, that no citizen or resident of the US can go to any country and have sex with a person under the age of 16.
With the exception of a age gap of less then 4 years. with a min age of 12. that means a guy that is 2 days from his 16th birthday could have sex with someone on their 12th birthday.
Does that work with any rules or morals you have?

b) See above

c) But - From your rules I am not a cougar.. and I was not a cougar when I was first called that, so I still need to beat some people.. trying to make me feel dirty.
Also my age gap has not been that bad.. 10 to ... 16 so not horrible, but what was horrible is that I had to think about it

d) My version of heaven! The land of orgasmic accents, kilts, music, literature, dragons, wizards and castles.

I am going to The UK for university.

if it is the guys doing the pursuing, and not the female, then what would she be called?

Very lucky???

NO.. ohh no not all the time.
The youngest was young and nobody knew how young. Thankfully I do have some morals, not a lot of them, but enough for me. This little bugger
would end up running into the group I was with at pubs, clubs open air events all the time. The night we all found out his age, all of us had been at a pub to see a band, not one of us was sober, including that one. Everyone was cabbing it over to my place and the ones that had driven there were making arrangements to leave their vehicles in the car park. He screwed up and basically let his age slip out when asked if he had driven there. Turned out he wasn't old enough to get into the pub, let alone my pants.

What really pissed me off was that he was not old enough to be drinking. The whole group had been taking turns buying 'rounds' including him.
That is not good, for either us or the owner or servers (For those that do not know, in North America 'we' 'generally' expect to be 'waited on hand and foot' when out, be it a meal and drinks or just drinks - most might even be confused as to what to do at the bar/counter).
What horrified me was something else 8O

The cougar definition, as far it's meant in my region goes beyond just what age of man a woman dates. It's also a personality descriptive. I think once the term cougar spread in the popular lexicon, it took on different watered down meaning dependent on where someone lives.

As for age differential, I'd agree with what others have said, that any woman dating in the age range of what her own children or under the half plus 7 rule can be considered to be robbing the cradle. Whether she's a cougar or not, is different. For example a 30 year old woman dating a 20 year old would be robbing the cradle since she's going less than the half +7 rule, but she wouldn't necessarily be classed a cougar.

- She is sexually forward
- She makes extraordinary efforts to stop the aging process, often ending up looking ridiculous.
- She could also end up in a relationship and stop prowling, but she still exhibits the other traits of cougarhood (Demi Moore is a cougar as is Samantha on "Sex In The City")

A MILF, on the other hand is simply any woman of "mothering age" (I'd say probably 30 or over) who is considered hot by young men.

Hmmmm thanks...
Just when I thought ok I cannot be considered a cougar (which generally here is kind of.. well gross)
you come along and make it sound worse. 8O

Out of curiosity, where in Canada are you roughly? I have been from one end to the other, and kinda right in the middle right now in Saskatchewan.

I never watched "Sex In The City" catching the adverts when being around a tv was bad enough, so I have no clue who Samantha is, but, I thought someone told me Demi Moores .umm.<scrolles> Ashton Kutcher went after her, so she was not a cougar...

As for 'stopping the aging process'..
- I have been praying to the gods of white hair since I was ~10 or 11 years old.
A couple years ago I finally ended up with 1. I was like 'yes! about bloody time. I thought once I had the 1st white hair
more would start showing up, doesn't seem to work that way. I have 6 now - at this rate I will be 90 and still not enough to even be considered 'going white/grey'
So if anyone has any suggestions to speed this up, please let me in on the secrete.
- I have 1 wrinkle, which my old roomie affectionately named 'the stupidity wrinkle' she figured it was from the scowl I do when someone does or says something stupid while around me - oddly it showed up around the same time as my 1st grey/white hair.
And for female crap I have mascara and eyeliner - which might need to be binned, I was told they have an expiry date.. but couldn't see one on either :?

So I don't think that fits me, and I am don't pursue, but I can be (tend to be) forward when with someone and want(need)

As I said earlier, that mothering age of 30, doesn't really work well.. And I did the Bob Barker thing long ago and have none (I would be a horrible mother in most peoples eyes)

But you did make me sound like a 'cradle robber', but I do not think of 18+ as babies, if they are old enough to drink, they are old enough to decide what they want in a female...

Sorry for making it sound worse. It's basically the desciptive that I think is pictured by most people I know. There was a radio commercial that played a few years ago on one of the radio stations in my city, that had a cougar woman and some young guy LOL talking. The guy in the commerical says, "Woah...you just put on lipstick and lit your cigarette at the same time!" I kind of pictured the woman in the commercial having big hair, long red claw fingernails and wearing leopard print. :P Like Eminem's mom trying hard to look good.

I live and have lived in various major cities in the Eastern Time Zone. For security reasons I don't give my exact location.

So, I'm sitting here about to reply to your post and this is funny...my daughter is in the same room as me watching...wait for it...."Cougartown" 8O heh

I'm trying with no luck to tune it out.

I don't watch "Sex And The City" either. In fact the only shows I watch are "Criminal Minds" and "Law & Order". That should tell you something about me LOL

I've only vicariously had the displeasuere of viewing "Sex And The City" when either of my daughters and their friends are watching re-runs of it. It seems the younger generation is quite taken with it. Personally, I find it gross. That might make me sound like a prude, but I'm far from it. It's just that women going around acting like horny 18 year old men does nothing to further development. *climbs off soapbox*

I have no idea what you are referencing with the "Bob Barker thing. :?:

As a post script and for what it's worth: I do think that women who are AS can be more inclined to become MILF-hunter or "cougar hunter" prey because they often look much younger and act much younger than their contemporaries. That could be what's happening with you. If you're an attractive independent female certain guys are going to target you for "hot pickings". Whether one chooses to play that game or not...well...Ay there's the rub....eh :)

Hey you didn't know the Bob barker thing, I had no idea what cougar town was..

Bob Barker, Price is Right - Spay and neuter your pets.. does that ring any bells? lol it kinda shows how long it has been since I watched NA tv

As for why I asked region.. for a bit I thought you were an exes mother - you really sounded like her 8O

I read that and was trying to figure out how that could even be possible
Ok so 2 to 1 - I had to look up his mother - I don't really listen to NA music either..

~ post script - I think I may be of the spectrum, I do not know if I am..
I know why, I just didn't think cougar fit me, still don't. And as I said, cradle robber sounds so much worse, but I think of 18+ as adults not babies
I act like me. Depending on what I am doing at the time it could be anything. Usually pretty calm and laid back, occasionally goof around.
Most often then not just one of the guys.
