This is a much better, completely foolproof way to get men:

i don't know. but if my movie-based education serves me right i suspect it also heavily involves contact lenses. along with some sort of unspecified hair product. then meeting some totally hot babe who is enthralled with your quirky ways. piece of piss.

Dangling outside her window wearing a spacesuit always helps.
Women can't resist that.

Which one works better, cosmonaut or astronaut?

Any is fine as long as it shows how cute and quirky you are and she won't be able to keep her hands off you.

It usually comes from people who are already in serious relationships so of course they found their soul mate.

It really bothers me because its like, I try and look for a boyfriend and no one is interested. I always get "I only like you as a friend" line and it breaks my heart.

I don't know what to do. I give up on everything about dating.

If it makes you feel better, I know a NT girl whose 19 and she hasn't had either.

I am an 18 year old female...I have been on one date in total.

I have never been kissed (even by my family for some time, kisses gross me out from them, and until I find someone that I love or really like, I will not kiss).

I have never had a boyfriend despite pretty much everyone in school having a SO.

I feel optimistic though, college is coming up soon.

I'm ready to get out and have fun! :D

You are 23, are you still in college?

If you are, join some clubs! (That's part of my plan.... that sounds evil.....muhahah, my plan  , jk  I am seriously thinking about it though because I still have hope, I just think that I'll have to work harder than normal people...but it is possible!)

You youngsters! I'm 42 and until two months ago had only ever kissed one girl in my life (we got married, but had nothing in common), so I probably have as little experience as anyone here.

One simple and guaranteed solution (but not recommended) is to join a highly structured religion where members of the opposite sex outnumber your sex. There will be a clear route to marriage, and you will be in demand, so you just follow it, and job done.

A better way is what follows. Using this patented method I, a 42 year old overweight balding aspie guy with the social skills of a ten year old, recently met my dream woman. Follow my advice NOW, QUICKLY, before she dumps me and I decide that actually I know nothing after all.

Step 1. Sit down and plan it.Where do you want to be, and how can you get there? What are the probabilities? How many dates do you need, how many people do you need to contact, how can you reach them, what might go wrong and how can you plan for that.

Step 2. Google how to pull. There is a lot of material out there: Google "how to be an alpha". Not to follow the advice (unless you want to), but to understand how minds work. Hot people often go with ugly and weedy people, because those ugly and weedy people have learned to remove all neediness and then fake total confidence. Of course you also need experience to get it right, but failing is OK as it leads to the magic ingredient: EXPERIENCE! See next points.

Step 3. Put in the hours. It's a numbers game. I reckoned that, even in my remote area, if I put in time each night on Plenty Of Fish and OKCupid forums, and contacting people, I could get one reasonable person interested each month. Knowing that is a very reassuring, it means you can plan ahead. It typically takes seven dates before you find someone you really like - possible more for aspies?

Step 4. Say yes to every date (unless they are dangerous, cruel, or physically turn your stomach). Old and dumb and ugly? It doesn't matter. The most important thing is to get experience. I'm not talking sex, I mean getting past the "I am needy and naive" stage that seems to put people off. It makes you more confident and relaxed for when you finally meet the one you want. And who knows, the one you don't care for might turn out to be better than you thought.

That's it. The secret to happiness. Next question?

[ am a 23 year old female whose never been in a relationship and has never dated. People always tell me that I will find someone one day because I'm still young. and to me that's starting to really hurt]

I got into my first relationship at the age of 20, and it lasted over two years. I've got to say it was all luck... I reminded her of her father who she was greatly empathizing with at the time because he was getting divorced from her mother who had been having an affair, we had been good friend for about a year and both of us had been single for awhile, and because her best friend convinced her to give dating me a try when she initially planned on rejecting me due to the fact we had been friends for so long(her friend was someone I had never met before) because she thought it was a good idea. The key point is the timing was right and things just fell into place.

I would like to mention at this point I did not know I had AS, after the relationship ended I found a lot of the problems I had in the relationship and the problems she had in the relationship were related to my AS traits, probably more than 80% of them. I've been single for a year now and no relationship prospects are on the horizon... I am getting used to living in a solitude and I'm finding I like it very much. This doesn't mean I have given up on the idea of a relationship but I'm finding I'm going to enjoy life as it happens to me and try to make the most of being alone.

That being said dating is very hard. I truly empathize with what you are going through now and in my past

I'm 25 and a half and never had a first kiss. Girls have been ignoring me since high school. I am always ignored by women. In high school most males in my grade always had a girlfriend and I was always alone. I have never been approached by a woman even once.

If I had to guess then I'd say that women don't like me very much. Maybe they don't think I'm a good person so they don't like my personality, maybe it's because I can't earn my own income and still live with my parents or maybe they just are not attracted to my looks.

I'm 19, been kissed twice, but have HORRIBLE luck with guys. I've been on one or two dates, but every guy that has some kind of interest in me automatically loses it or simply ignores me after a few weeks. I guarantee it's because of my awkwardness. I generally come off as cold or uninterested because I don't want to seem clingy - I can't seem to find that middle ground. Needless to say I'm also a virgin, and never had a boyfriend. I still don't understand why this is so wierd to most people, but having a kid when you're 16 has become almost normal.

By the way - girls should watch this video, it definitely helps me feel a little bit betterTina Fey on Letterman

I'm a serial monogamist since 16, and was even engaged for a few years, but am having a pretty dry/lonely spell of several years atm-
I'm intensely "talking" with someone (one of WP's very own Aspie guys  ) but don't know if we will be able to sort through our own problems, let alone any that might evolve from a LT relationship.

If this one fails, I'm going to bite the bullet and subscribe to a romance novel discount club and acquire at least three more cats.

My views:

Relationships is always about the person not about the relationship. Too many people seek relationships for the sake of being in a relationship regardless of who the person is.

Relationships have never bothered me. I am in the same situation as you guys but it doesn't bother me. It is important to find our purpose in life, perhaps a way to contribute to those who need us by making use of our abilities and talents.

I reside in South Africa after moving here 7 years ago. After seeing the amount of poverty in this country, I redirected my focus towards doing my best in economics so that one day I can make even the smallest impact by helping to improve the economy. That is my main goal that is why everything else in my life comes second apart from my family and close friends of course.

Unfortunately society has placed a lot of pressure on people to enter relationships, society has brainwashed people into thinking that social success is linked to our being in a relationship.

We all have tremendous potential within us. We must first realise that happiness is found within ourselves and that we need some time to learn how to be happier. This inner happiness is linked to our family and friends and our purpose among other things. They provide the support and direction that we need to navigate life. Everything else comes after.
