if you are turning to a brand new boyfriend for advice as to how to behave, that shows a lack of confidence in your own judgement. you are deferring to his guidance, which creates a power imbalance. you've put him above you.

i tend to think that if PUA material was designed for people to have great conversations, it would be marketed as such. do you have any mutual friends that can verify he didn't pick up women for sex with his material?

EDIT: changed "chicks" to "women" lol

I agree, to a certain extent. It does seem weak of me to immediately fall to him for help. But I saw he could help and he was already telling me about his tactics for conversing and I decided to follow my gut. I think we both (Brian and I) see it this way, but the underlying fact is the one you've stated above.
Yes, I do have a mutual friend with him. But I haven't spoken with him about these things, ever. I might soon.

You could try pointing out his shortcomings & see how he responds to it. If he gets upset with you over it; tell him that he does the same to you & you'll stop it if he does

This, he shouldn't be dishing out such criticism if he can't accept any being thrown back at him. It also sounds like he's more worried about what his friends think of him rather then your well-being, and that's not a good thing either.

Although Interlunar, it might be worth asking yourself this, if you really are hyper-sensitive to everything, then is it really worth being in a relationship of this nature?

I've found that there are people out there who are also sensitive and can match up quite well with another sensitive soul. :)

That's how I feel. I'm one of those sensitive people & I'd rather someone who's extremly sensitive than someone who's not
