I say anywhere quiet. I find movie dates should be a little later in a relationship because you don't really get to know more about a person when they're sitting down and watching something.

I also suggest getting together with friends for a Halo tournament. Since you also mentioned video games, may I also share that me and my girlfriend play Super Nintendo together! So awesome!

ditto,

also for future dates, when i lived in melbourne with my ex, we used to take picnics to random parks or the botanic gardens.
we would randomly choose a pub and have a meal and drinks and make up stories about the cliental
we would take 20 to burke street and have to buy a present for each other without the other realising (lots of window shopping together and usually a mad dash to buy an item seen while the partner was at the toilet ect)
we would go to china town and order something random off the menu
walking around victoria street markets and buy the other person a gift (i bought lots of apples as they were his fav food)
we would to st kilda sometimes (it took a few hours, we lived in mitcham) and just talk

Recently a friend of mine asked me out on a date. We went to the movies. He decided when we would go and what we would do. This time though, he wants me to choose something to do. I have no idea what to tell him. He knows I have trouble with decision-making so he isn't expecting an answer straight away, but this isn't a matter of not being able to make a decision, this is a matter of not even knowing what my options are! What are some things people do on dates? Where do you go? Any advice would be appreciated, I've never done this before.

What do you really want to do? Invite him to do that and give him plenty of attention and admiration while you're on your date.

The Pancake Parlour was a success! He said it wasn't a place he normally would have suggested but he was glad that I did. "The most fun had eating food" was what he said. And since I had looked up the menu online the day before, there was no issue with deciding what I wanted. We also shared a nice moment together at the train station before parting ways. It was a good day.
