Jealousy is founded in distrust. And without trust, a relationship cannot survive.

So, no, I am not jealous. Not at all.

Strangely, I've found this bothers some women, like they expect me to get all riled up because they talk to some guy and want the thrill of making an issue out of nothing. I don't get it.

It is just normal for us to feel jealousy especially if we really love our partner.

Jealousy isn't something that people set out to experience. Nor is it easy to control once it gains a foothold. I had an ex who was extremely jealous of me, to the point where I had to leave him. He couldn't understand that I was not likely to cheat on him. I was very shy and it just wasn't my style. But that didn't stop him from accusing me whenever I took an innocent trip to the library or the bakery. He would ask me where I was going, then show up there later to spy on me. Yet I have experienced the pangs of jealousy (not about the ex, mind you) and no, there is no logic to it and it is very hard to control once it gets started. :(

Agreed.

I think it has a lot to do with your childhood experiences and how that develops your attachment style, for example secure, avoidant, or anxious-ambivalent. I'll admit that my childhood and dating experiences have made me very anxious-ambivalent, where I am afraid that people don't really love me and will leave me later on. I had to deal with those issues with a professional to eventually have a healthy relationship.

I think I would be. No need to deny the possibility of it.

No, I don't think I'm capable of being jealous & suspicious. But that isn't a good thing. I've had 3 relationships and been cheated on each time. And the first I know about it is when I get dumped for the other woman.

It's a shame, because I don't want to be with someone I feel I can't trust. And I don't want to have to be distrusting. And I definitely don't want to have to keep my boyfriend on a tight leash in case he has sex with the first woman who smiles at him once I'm not there. That just isn't how I want to live.

The way I do want to live clearly didn't work though.

The cheaters should be separated from the non-cheaters. That's how I would do it in an ideal world. Tattoos in the forehead for the cheaters
