Ooh.

In certain circumstances, and with certain women, I would say yes, in others I would say 'what is feminism' - because it's a huge area - and in others, I would say no.

I find the mainland UK to be more female-orientated than a lot of countries. At times this is good, at times, well...it's a bit ridiculous. I can't talk about the US - I've never been there, but I'm not sure it's nearly quite as female-oriented as the UK?

Equality would be great, but perhaps it's just not achievable, across a whole society. I think if people saw themselves as a person, and part of a whole, rather everyone being a special case and entitled to certain treatment - men included - then we might be getting somewhere.

It may be useful to consider male (and white) privilege before considering how one feels about those less privileged

Some of the points in the second link are highly simplistic. And I work in a 95% female environment. So, please, I see the other side of the coin all the time. And let me tell you, I can flip a lot of those statements right round.

Some women think they have it tougher then men. Some men think they have it tougher than women. In truth, everyone has it tough.

When it comes down to it, very few people want equality - they want privileges, and are not really bothered at whose expense they get it from.

I'm not going to respond to those links because that would be hijacking the OP's thread and if I were to respond than it would belong in PP&R section. If you want to start a thread there talking about how women have less priveledges in society than men we can do that, but it would be disrespectful to hijack this thread.

I take the point about not wanting to take over the thread (what was it about again??) and also, I take your point octobertiger about how it can flip over, this is why I always get enraged when anti rape protesters completely leave out male victims from the equation, and I know you hate talking in generalities anyway so will leave off now.

All he does is talk in generalities. He's just too oblivious to notice.

Also, I'm all for discussions of male privilege which in my opinion is the route cause of all the Nice Guy(TM) crap anyway.

And all you do is bow down to women on these forums thinking that they will respect you more.

"Not being a douche" =/= "bowing down to women".
And personally, I do respect him. I think it's the whole "not a douche" thing.

This just proves how narrow minded you are. The very idea that a man could actually believe that feminism isn't the downfall of humanity is just something you are incapable of comprehending. Am I a traitor to my gender or something?

Also, this is my thread. You're just about the last person I'd ever want speaking for me in any matter regarding topic discussions. You've proven time and again that you don't even understand what a discussion is or what constitutes a fact. If I want it to become a debate on male privilege, it will.

On topic:
I'm all for exploring male privilege which in my opinion is the route cause of all this MRA and Nice Guy(TM) crap. Most of them are just passive aggressive omega males who are bitter about their lack of social status and their inability to fully benefit from their gender (like they would have 50+ years or so ago.) Women are just their chosen scapegoat. Men do need advocates too but nothing long term and successful has ever come out of reactionary politics.

I'm sorry that I have to get like that with you, but it's not just this thread that I'm talking about. It's just about every thread that you put women on a pedestal. I'm just keeping it real with you.
I see some of the nice guyTM behaviors in you.

If you really mean what you say, and I had to take a guess, your a radical feminist that wants women to have more rights than men.

And your comment is way off point. He goes out his way to put women in favor over men in every topic and discussion like they are more angels and takes women's side every time. It's really weird actually.

Oh......I can be a bit of a douche, actually. I'm just self aware enough to not really care.

Thanks though. I appreciate the support!
