I have job where wearing a ring could cost me a finger.

Wifey got me a pair of Red Green suspenders, so I wear them all the time.

I just posted in another thread joking about saving up for a ring, but that made me curious. When my ex proposed, I tried to get him a ring too (fair's fair) but he refused to wear it, saying he'd only wear the wedding band.

I see two points:

1. It's an act of love. If he can show his love with a ring, why can't I? I felt rather rebuffed when my offer to buy a ring was effectively quashed.
2. If I have to wear a sign that says "ALL MALES CAN RACK OFF, I'M TAKEN" then surely he should have to wear a "ALL FEMALES CAN RACK OFF, I'M TAKEN!".

Would you wear an engagement ring if your woman bought you one?

Quite frankly I think it really depends on 2 things: how much he cares about you, and how much he likes the ring.

Generally if he loves the ring, or at least if it looks cool enough, they may consider wearing it. It may not be traditional though - a lot of guys prefer black titanium or tungsten rather than a traditional engagement ring. Depends how well you like (or can at least deal with) something non traditional that someone else probably wont recognise is an engagement ring. There are some really awesome designs out there now.

In summary: learn to think like a guy on matters like this

I don't like to wear any sort of jewerly at all. I find it very distracting and irritating.
I threw my watch away 26 years ago and have never wore jewerly of any sort.

Having said that. I would ask for the option to not wear it as an every day thing. But I'd be proud to wear it when we went out for dinners or shopping together, generaly spending time together in public. But at work, who am I keeping at bay? nobody.
