Is a car required for a relationship?
If you're interest in dating any girl/woman over the age of 14, then you need a car. Before then, a bicycle will usually suffice.
That's because driving a car is a sure sign that: (1) you are reasonable trustworthy; (2) you can afford* it on your own; or (3) your parents can afford* to support your dating habits.
Basically, a car is a show of both high social status and wealth* -- two essentials that gold-digging*, social-climbing females must perceive before you stand a chance of drawing their attention.
Mature women, however, really do seem to be just as interested (in the long-term, anyway) in men who are mature, responsible, intelligent, educated, compassionate, assertive (not aggressive), and generally interesting to be around.
(*Do you perceive the trend?)I'm confused. Your last paragraph seems to contradict your first. Does he need a car or not?
He needs a car -- "He who walks, walks alone" -- A motorcycle might be okay, unless it rains or snows.
People with cars can go wherever and whenever they want. They go more places and do more things than people who are at the mercy of parents, siblings, friends, and public transportation. They're also likely have jobs, be responsible, and have some common sense. People pick up on this - even those who've dismissed me as a geeky, gimpy weirdo treat me with a little more respect when they see me pull up in a new Honda Accord.
I remember trying to attract the attention of women at uni when I was single and had no car - I spent my freshman year being in every woman's "Friend Zone". Once I finally got a car of my own, they seemed to want to spend more time with me. Of course, I knew they were buttering me up to ask me to drive them to the clubs or the mall, but at least they spent time with me.
Again, mature women can see past a man's poverty to perceive a kind and caring soul, and would not be concerned with what (or if) a man drives.
