Nerd language barrier
But if you wanna know How to Win Friends and Influence People its also true that its wise to get others to talk about themselves. In fact that's one of the first things Dale Carnegie teaches you in his classic book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" ( a book prolly every aspie should read).
For whatever reason people often seemed disinclined to do so. I am interested to see how others think, even if I do not like an individual it is still interesting to hear their viewpoint.
Think of short hand ways of explaining things to the nonexpert.
In fact, even before having conversations, imagine yourself having conversations (with a hawt chick you meet, or with old friends or your mom) about some new exciting thing in your interest. Think of a "short answer" and a "long answer" to questions about stuff you're expert in. Even ask folks which answer they want. Lol!
I try dumbing things down immensely and still get labeled as a nerd. I don't really know how to reduce things further than describing it as "magic".

I'm thinking I need some cool network apps to run on portable hardware. I got a Node.js ChromeCast emulator running today so that's something. Now everyone on a network can add music & videos to a shared playlist queue.
It would be nice if NFC & Bluetooth sharing were more common. For that matter Telegram is great & I haven't a clue why it's not replacing Facebook yet.

I'm guessing Facebook uses some of its money to keep down competitors and prevent getting usurped in the same way that Facebook usurped MySpace back in the day. What's entailed by certain recent developments(I'd say more details but I suspect such thing may be off limits outside of the Politics section?) will be pretty manageable for billion dollar tech giants like Facebook but present massive challenges to smaller scale companies.
It would not surprise me if Facebook would lobby for things to purposely make things inhospitable for startups and possibly prevent the would-be "Facebook successor".

They probably do that Apple-style by patenting tech they're not even going to use just so others can't. For another matter I think Facebook & sites like it are cynical exploitation of feminine social intuition. If guys had enough of that, the tech bro establishment probably wouldn't even market to women.
Why would social media bother improving our lives when simply data mining our every step does so much for the 1%? Everyone needs nore self respect than selfies afford us. We have better ways of using our tech just under our noses.
