So it turns out some girls assume I am gay.

This is ridiculous - so if you're not a macho jerk/womaniser, by default you're gay?

I recall an incident in high school that I will never forget, I overheard my guy best friend telling a female classmate: “ No, <myName> loves girls I swear!”. What’s funny that I had a crush on this girl in particular.

Then they noticed I was just behind them and I asked what’s all this about, my friend was like “tell her that you love girls, dude!”.
I asked her why she thought I don’t, she literally said that because she never saw me flirting with any girl in school.

I thought only teen girls would think in that way, apparently I was wrong.

Seriously, I thought this must be a joke, since you're anything but gay in your writing.

If you have to act like a jerk, posture like a silverback gorilla, wink at everything that passes by so that you're not taken as something you're not, then that's ridiculous. I'd sooner think those who flirt with everything that moves are jerks who should be avoided.

Unless Lebanese men are usually extremely flirty and you just stand out because you're more withdrawn? I doubt it's because of the "soft voice" and "being too soft".

The most noticeable would be that my body build is smaller than most guys here, but I don’t think that’s the reason.

The school girl was lebanese, my gf and the adult girl are both from east asian countries.
So here you ago, I have sample examples in my life of girls thinking me like that from multiple cultures.

i admit I know nothing of lebanese men, but a quick google search gave this:

Quote:
Lebanese men stereotypes
Most non-Lebanese girls I’ve met said two things about Lebanese guys:

1- Handsome: Lebanese guys are good looking and are often in good shape (visit the gym enough to maintain a good body form).

2- Playboys: Lebanese guys are womanizers.

I am not going to judge the first point, being a straight male disqualifies me from judging the looks of Lebanese guys, yet, judging from the behavior of most of my male Lebanese friends and acquaintances, yes, most Lebanese guys are womanizers.

https://humanbreeds.com/2014/03/21/the- ... ereotypes/

(I can't verify the accuracy of the article though)

I don't know where from exactly is your gf or the other girl, but if they're also used to more jerkish male behaviour in East Asia, i wouldn't be surprised if they'd jump to label anything different from what they're used to, to the first term that pops to mind associated with that kind of behaviour. But of course smaller body frame might add to such a judgmental approach.

You'd probably be considered gay in Italy and Greece too, but not here. Here you'd be hit with a purse if you'd act like that lol.

Also you stalk your girlfriends phone to read all her texts and texts back from contacts? I mean did your girl give you permission to post all her texts onto a public website?

The chat is from my own phone, I don’t touch my gf’s phone.

If you don’t care, leave the thread.

But curiousity kills, I mean seems like you post an awful lot of peoples texts and Instant messeges...So I just wonder why, what exactly are you trying to prove?

Because it is a much more effective and easier way to explain what one said to me by showing part of the conversation.

All names or private info were hidden so stop being so dramatic.

Well half the time what you show, is you being an a**hole to any women who dares express any interest in you. Makes it look like you seek out women to break up with them so you can then come here and tell us all about how all women are exactly the same. I mean you are a fake date just there to expose unknowing people for what you see as their blunders not actually interested in meeting someone special to share your life with. Lots of people in the west like here in the U.S are like that to, I have never found those kinds of guys attractive to be honest. Like who would want to stick with someone who is so vindictive about any action or word they might say. I mean she might make a slight mistake and your revenge is to drown her in a pool...like chill man, some people are dishonest a**holes...if you do not like women who are that way than quit seeking them out by delibritly making profiles to attract that kind of women just so you can get on WP and tell us how bad she was to you...maybe quit continuously seeking the sort of women who give you problems just to b***h about it on WP. Like do you, you don't need to impress or offend any of us seems like your just making yourself miserable always trying to prove some negative point against anything being discussed, but you don't have to do that.

Also (if I were her) I would feel betrayed for exposing our intimate conversations in this way.

I don’t spurn her, but she admitted that if she saw me in real life before then she may also think i was gay.

She is being honest, no grudges against her.

I see nothing initimate in this tiny convo.

If you asked your gf she might continue to trust and be honest with you and explain that you 'shot the messenger'.
She wrote about her intimate feelings for you to highlight that what others thought didn't matter, you dismissed her feelings and focussed on the opinions of strangers.
If she meant enough to you, you wouldn't care so much about others opinions, you communicated indirectly to her that her opinion was meaningless.

Perhaps I am more private than most, but when I express genuine deep feelings I have to a lover I do not expect to see those private words plastered all over a thread, objectified and twisted into something meaningless.

I do consider the lack of protection for her intimate emotions a betrayal.

Boo's relationship is a bit sui generis so things might work differently for them than they do for you in your relationships.

Though I will admit that the "Girlfriend: You're so soft, gentle in all ways! Boo: Yes, but how do I change that?" part was a bit too much.

I think in general I would use the same courtesy with total strangers too. Not virtue-signalling here, I just don't understand why it'd be fair do to that to people we have no deep feelings for.

It's not that it'd be fair— it's that we usually don't give a crap about being fair to people we don't give a crap about, provided we don't fear their possible retaliation.

That is likely the case, but I don't think it provides enough moral superiority to criticize Boo.

I took it as Boo wanting to discuss why he appeared gay to so many people, and gave his gf's opinion as one example....and i didn't see anything more than that.

If she really thought you were gay, she wouldn’t have thought to date you.

There are at least some women who don’t like the stereotypical macho type of guy.

Im not a macho sort of guy—yet I’ve done pretty good for myself. I’m a “soft” guy, though not effeminate. I’ve has a belly a lot of my adult life. I did better with a belly than when I was thin, actually.

The girl digs you as you are. Don’t spurn her for thinking this way. She’s probably tired of the macho idiocy. Or she might just be teasing.

That’s me in my avatar. I don’t exactly look macho. I’ve seen a picture of you (Boo). You don’t look gay. You look like a straight, artistic type.

I would bet that no woman in this thread thinks I look “gay,” though I don’t exactly look “macho.” I look like I’m rather “soft,” in fact.

You can't let these unpredictable nuances bother Face of Boo.

I know some people think that if a member of the opposite sex doesn't flirt with them then they MUST be gay (because how else could you possibly not be attracted to them).

Oh, and I've been mistaken for a gay guy, too. The people making that assumption were always surprised to learn my effeminate mannerism were due to the fact I'm actually a girl.
