To be honest, I’ve been thinking a lot about the endless stream of typically young guys who come in here to vent their frustrations with dating. I, as well as others have often tried to help them, but I have come to the conclusion that we shouldn’t.

If a person with a pervasive social development disorder who knows they have such a disorder posseses such a level of cognitive dissonance that have redefined normal and average to pertain to themselves rather than admit they are outliers to avoid facing the reality that normal average people are dating marrying and having sex in en mass, and they are not, by virtue of the fact that they are socially delayed alone, and their shortcomings are internal rather than external, these are individuals who, in their present mindset, lack the capacity to grow as people and should not be in relationships because they are not at a place where they would be able to Maintain one. They lack the necessary social fitness And few of them seem to never acquire it due to There in ability to Look them selves in the mirror and admit that they are not average and the problem is with them and not anyone else. While they are here trying to distort statistics To meet their comfortable delusion, the bulk of the human population is doing as it always did, having relationships marrying having sex and perpetuating the human species.

Why don’t you just come out and call us worthless losers?

Because my idea of the definition of loser is likely different than yours.

sly279 wrote:
I’ve never heard the middle class called average it’s always been the working jonthe average joe blue collar jobs not middle class white collar jobs.

Many women here have said I’m average guy then you now say average is only middle class income . So brings us back what about the millions and millions of loser men? Low income people make up the majority in America way more of use then average people.

There are different types of averages. When women say you are an average guy they probably don't know what your income level or net worth is. They probably mean that physically and behaviorally you don't stand out.

The definition of middle class and working class will vary slightly, but according to Pew Research Center, the American middle class makes up 51% of the adult population, upper class, 21% and lower class, 29/%. Working class is not necessarily synonymous with poor or low income. The wage distribution of "blue collar" working class jobs simply has more variance than the wage distribution of "white collar" jobs, and probably a lower average which has lowered over time. But the jobs we typically associate with working class....contractors, plumbers, coal miners, oil workers, can actually be fairly well paying, at least such that the person is solidly in the middle class or even upper middle class.

sly279 wrote:
You started all those to prove people like us marry etc but then redefined average as being middle class income which most of us are not. I dont know what middle class people do I’m not middle class and never will be.

I think you are confusing me with someone else. Here are all the things I have said on this thread aside from that which is stated above. I had not previously made any comments about the average guy as it relates to income level on this thread.

What I said... wrote:

The average guy has a partner.
By 2012, only 23% of American men over the age of 25 had never been married but a good number of those have probably had partners. The guys who don't managed to get partners are in the minority.

How many of those 124.6 million people are under 25 though? People tend to have very touch and go relationships until their mid to late 20s.

Comment 3 wrote:
To answer your question, what happened between 1976 and 2014? Well a lot of older people who married when marriage was something people did young because they were expected to, died, leaving single widows and widowers, and a lot of people who were too young to marry in 2014 by modern standards were born. The age distribution of the population is bottom heavy, with more younger people than older people and people aren't forming long term relationships until they are older.

Comment 4 and 5? wrote:
It still stands that the average man is not single.

In fact, I would say most of these people actually slightly above average in looks because wedding photographers only post the better looking people to their portfolios. I'd also say the women are better looking than the average woman more than the men are better looking than the average men.

Comment 6 wrote:
Yeah the women are actually pretty good looking...like I said though, wedding photographers will try to post the best in their portfolios so it's not is only an approximation of the average couple. Also they are professional photographers and know the lighting, filters and lenses to use to make people look better than their best....they also do a good bit of post editing these days. But the guys are average and certainly not the models the OP thinks are getting all the women. People used to put wedding and engagement announcements in the news paper all the time. They weren't expensive. Most people hire wedding photographers. Some of them have good jobs. The others we don't really know but the average man is married and makes an average middle class income in the west.

Somewhat off topic but I used to have a lab partner who looked like Mario Lopez and was probably the first 10 to ever talk to me, but his breath was so horrible I didn’t want to be near him.

However in reply to your last comment, when you post in a public forum you do not get to choose what kind of replies you get. You might get replies that you find helpful, regardless of their intent, and you might get replies that you find the opposite of helpful, regardless of their intent. That is the nature of posting in a public forum. It would be unreasonable to expect other people to only say things that make you feel better even if they intend to make you feel better...how can they know what you need to hear if you don't even know? If you knew, you could say it to yourself and make yourself feel better.

I don't see how stating truths is condemning. I think it far more condemning for a man who does not have super model features to think that only men with super model features get women, or a man who is not rich to think that only rich men get women, and so on, and this is the state of mankind, when it's very obviously not true.

If I never acknowledged I was fat, I would still be fat today. I had to look in the mirror and say to myself "I'm not chubby, I'm, not a little overweight, I'm fat and nothing is going to make me look slim but losing weight"

If I never faced the fact that I struggled with math, I never would have obtained any of my degrees and learned the wonderful things about the universe that I learned.

If I never acknowledged my social short comings and other things related to ASD, and instead prescribed to the notion that I was the nicest person in the world and society was just mean, and cruel, and unfair, and had "irrational standards" I never would have made the progress in life that I did. I would be in a group home feeling absolutely miserable all the time and having having melt downs over basic, every day things.

I do not prescribe to delusions because delusions are not helpful. There are plenty of guys here who realize that and they might still be struggling but at least they know what they need to work on and are trying. As long as you know what you need to improve and make an effort to do so, you give yourself a chance.

I will revise a claim upon more careful reading. I did mention the average guy with respect to income level briefly. I said "The others we don't really know but the average man is married and makes an average middle class income in the west."

This was in response to a conversation on the affordability of wedding photos and is accurate.

Yeah yeah we get it.

The problem is with ourselves not society we need to self improve yadda yadda yadda.

What about those who will just never get there?

Do they just deserve to lay down and rot and accept a life of being forever alone?

I'm more idealistic than that. I believe everyone deserves love, no matter how poor functioning, evil, etc. you deserve your equivalent.

Toxic low lifes deserve other toxic low lifes, the rich and successful other rich and successful, etc.

And disabled guys who live at home with their parents at age 30 and work a dead-end part time job deserve disabled women who live at home at age 30 and work dead end part time jobs.

And by 'deserve' I don't mean entitled.

No one is ENTITLED to love. No one deserves love being given to them.

What I'm saying is everyone, yes, EVERYONE is good enough for love as they are.

It is a universal human emotion experienced by 99% of the human race and probably 95% of humans on Earth get to be in at least one romantic mutual relationship.

Everyone is good enough for love. You don't need to be anything more than you are now to be 'worthy' of love.

And seeing love as something you must be 'worthy' of is putting it on a pedestal and treating it as a prize rather than a natural human emotion.

My friend is 21 and lower functioning than me and not for a lack of trying.

He's been working for 4 years at his current job and he still struggles with it. he works 2 hour shifts 3 days a week and after 4 years it's all he can do. He can drive but still lives with his mother.

Should he accept being alone forever or still try and date women within his own league whatever that may be?

If a person succeeds, they succeed. If a person fails, they fail. If a person loves another, they love them, and if they don't, they don't.

Some people will succeed, some will fail, some will love, some will be loved, some never will love, and some never will be loved.

That is the nature of the world whether or not it aligns with your ideology.

The only people who say anyone isn’t good enough and they’re unloveable are the guys themselves. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone tell even the biggest self defeating complainers that they’re not good enough for love.

Saying they probably won’t get a girlfriend is not saying “You don’t deserve anyone to ever love you”.

There are people I think that about, but they’re people like child abusers and elderly abusers.

Autistic support societies like to point out the various jobs, cars, houses, degrees, and good behaviors that autistic men have had that don't make them man-children. Autistic societies then point out that the ones who lost their opportunities in life are the real man-children.

The autistic men who I believe have a good image are in support of what autistic support groups believe.

Of some of those men who lost opportunities in life, are known to know how to keep a secret, and well because no one cares about them, are left alone to attend to their own life to handle their own problems without needing the various things that autistic men need.

Autistic men have to live a life in a good dress shirt and suit, with a polite attitude, manners, and respect towards people. I hardly see any neurotypical men being taught these things, because they know how to explain their problems well without anyone arguing with them.

I have a hard time believing I'm actually smart if I need a lot of support and need to be in a quiet room. I see myself like a smart dolphin at Sea World more so than a smart human being. I digress and am doubtful of what autistic support groups say of me. When I see myself as disrespectful instead of seeing myself as a regular normal person going through frustration problems, I see myself as some animal with rabies growling and barking unable to communicate the frustration they have.

Look at how people are continuing to argue with this kid despite him telling them to stop, so that he can focus on his school work. If that kid was like a neurotypical those other kids would leave him alone without the snickering.

I hardly see any real people laughing at the Asperger's Are Us jokes. They may act like a brother and sister and say, "Wow you all have real talent!" but despite that I have yet to see any true laughter.

I wish I didn't have childish melodramatic problems and had the humor of a robot. Sorry Wrongplanet.

It's difficult to determine the actual nature of the situation in the video because the clip is so short. There's a chance that the guy in the yellow shirt could have initially been the aggressor, but for the sake of what I'm about to say, let's assume he was not. Let's assume he is the victim and is being bullied by the guys surrounding him. Let's also assume that he is not NT.

When teenagers, and sometimes young adults, congregate in groups, they are suddenly bestowed with an amount of power which they can use for good or bad, and some of the time they will use this power for bad, to disrespect authority and bully. Observe all of the videos of groups of teenaged boys and sometimes young adults on skateboards being disrespectful to adults and authority in general.

When these groups of bullies congregate, a person on the spectrum who has become their target will often try to reason with them, "out smart" with some type of logical argument, or act in a manner, as this guy did, with the false impression that they will respect him and he has some leverage. These tactics don't work. The bullies are not interested in logic or being out smarted. It is not about being right for them. It's about dominating, and they will attempt to use anything the person being bullied says or as a weapon against them.

An NT guy might have very well just have given an angry "Hey dude, back off!" If that doesn't work, he's not going to play their game. He is either going to leave or things are going to escalate and in the latter case, will likely end with him the one in trouble.

It's really just best to give these groups of bullies as little to use against you as possible. When you are being bullied by a group like this, I wouldn't even bother being friendly because these guys already have it out for their victim.

When I was in middle school, a group of boys in my class had a tendency to attempt to bully other boys and they found one very entertaining victim in a boy who also had AS. These bullies would try to "get" people's "goat" meaning generally hassle them with by attempting to get them to make themselves look stupid and this boy was an easy target because he would try to reason with them, never realizing that the next hit to him came from the very words he had just previously said to them. There was another boy in the class as well. He was the "cool" kid who typically didn't hang out with anyone in the class. It's not the the bullies never tried to bully him but he would never take their bait and was very good at giving them the impression that they didn't matter to him. In many instances, he said nothing to them and at most he never said more than a three word sentence. Typically something terse or cold and occasionally just an insult but always in a very un emotionally invested tone.

Obviously this will not work with all bullies. The bullies in my class were not hateful, they were just a group of guys looking for some entertainment at someone else's expenses and stopped when I told them how much they were upsetting the guy they were bullying. Some bullies, however, are hateful, or even dangerous, and sometimes the help of the authorities needs to be enlisted.

Yes I get your ideal world , but sadly this is not how sexual selection works in our world, this is not how our female ancestors selected mates over hundreds of millenniums- Sexual Selection doesn't work on equality basis.
I bet they didn't process thoughts like "I am a loser hunter girl so I would pick a loser hunter guy who understands my hunting struggles" but were more like "I want my kids to survive, I want them to be strong, so I want to mate with the best hunter I can get".

It's for that reason, for example, you see a lot of short women want men much taller than them, and don't even accept guys of their same height.

I once had a fair weather friend who asked me a few times if I only liked guys who are 6 feet and taller. Being trans and gay, that question got my dander up. I told her that I wasn't interested in any guys and that I feel intimidated by taller men. I told her that I'm not interested in romance and relationships and let's change the subject. I know she does and if that's her thing, I'm happy for her. I never understood the whole taller men thing. Some women say that gazing into their eyes is like looking up at the stars. I don't have to get it, either. If that's what makes most women happy, than more power to them. I'd rather play with my war toys and listen to my Kinks Arthur CD.
