I don’t have competitive drive which is what makes people ambitious so they can be better then others and mock them for it

Pushing a broom for 8h a day is not that hard. Stocking grocery store shelves is not that hard. Shelving books at the library is not that hard. Etc.
There are easy jobs for physically weak and/or lazy people that MANY people toil aaay at for 8h a day because they need money to live.

I don’t feel it’s a useless argument so long as Bea learns something from it.. like the fact that young people DO work hard and simply don’t have the same $ or purchasing power to show for it as our parents did. And also that it’s hella hypocritical to rip on young males for not being financially independent while her own daughter depends on taxpayer handouts for shelter - pretty rude. Hopefully she learns something from this discussion. Oh, and also not to bash sly while accepting the same shortcomings of her daughter.

I mean, how hard is it to walk around holding a beeping stick and checking the lcd screen for elevation and then spray painting numbers on the ground? Lol Then there’s general construction site cleanup, hardly ever lift anything over 40lbs and there’s nothing gross or rotten - just scraps of wood and sawdust and off-cuts of pvc pipe etc to toss in a dumpster.
There are MANY other jobs out there that require minimal skills, expertise, training, or interaction with people. You just have to have the will to do one of them.
Maybe going on these few dates will give you a “Why,” a reason to push yourself to work more, simply so you can either afford to treat this lady to nights out, or bank the coin to date others in the future, or even just to hold your head a little higher and think, “f**k yeah I’m working full time, I got this!”
It’s not the tasks it’s the hours.
I might been able to do packaging or factory line jobs but all those are gone, shipped to China or automated
What happens after x# of hours into a work day that prevents you from completing 8 hours?

Nope, good luck to all the older folks who think they can run the world without us. It's just like rich Republicans deporting the poor dudes mowing their lawns. People can cast me in the diminutive all day but that has nothing to do with the fact that I'm plain old handy.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that equating years of honest work for pennies to loserdom is weak. That's not an attitude that encourages my providing you any free tech support.

This is why I inform tight fisted old rich people who complain about the cost of skilled labour that they haven’t seen anything yet. Just wait another 5-10 years and a service call from any tradesman is going to cost a few hundred dollars just to show up at your door with tools, and then an hourly rate that’ll make their heads spin.
