Recently diagnosed at 39 (never too late huh). I'm pretty interested in science and technology in general, cosmology and software development in particular. However I'll happily talk about anything (knitting, the average rainfall in Antarctica, whatever) if you're interesting. Currently getting back into indie game development, and enjoying both the analytical and creative aspects of it. I tend to enjoy conversations with people who are passionate about something or really into certain hobbies. Maybe it's easier to understand what drives them? Maybe it's easier for me to relate?

I'm pretty introverted (surprise!) and enjoy going for walks, listening to audiobooks, the beach, some racquet sports, swimming, board games, some video games (though I suck as a gamer lol). Also really enjoy road trips and exploring new places with cool scenery or hiking trails. I just don't like holidaying alone...so hopefully someday I'll find a travel buddy and best friend.

For several years, my main hobby has been learning Japanese. However, I am still not perfect! And so, I'm always practicing. My reason for learning Japanese is that I want to play Japanese language games.

Learning kanji takes a lot of time, so my grammar is sloppy and I cannot write complicated sentences.

My other hobbies are video games (obviously), computer hardware, (somewhat) politics. Despite being British, I'm a coffee drinker and I think that tea tastes like dirty drainwater. I have a keen (if eccentric) sense of humour that rarely matches with other people.

As a person I'm introverted for the most part, but when I like somebody I can write at endless length about the most mundane, boring things. I have a very active mind and constantly have to analyse things— it's my way of keeping myself oriented in the world. I'm only really capable of having one person who I socialise with or do anything with, because I find people tiring and groups overstimulating, so I'd like someone who doesn't mind being that one person.

I haven't done a lot of dating in my life but I think I need to get around to it. I am a 27 years old man and currently live in one of the more progressive cities here in Texas. Software development is what I do for a living but I like to do other things when given the chance. That may include reading, watching a show/film, hanging out with friends, and going to the gym.

Or maybe someone should start a new thread with a more up-to-date name like "autistic singles list," which perhaps could be stickied?

(Note: I'm NOT seeking a partner myself, but I'm wondering why this thread was un-stickied, given its obvious potential usefulness to various people here.)

It would be nice to keep this informal and light-hearted, avoiding the "Why can't I find a girlfriend?" complaints. We have enough of those elsewhere.

I'm a 33-year-old man from the north-west of England. My main hobby for a while has been learning Japanese; other hobbies include video games (and visual novels), computer hardware, finding cool creatures and giving them hugs/admiring from afar (as apropos).

At first I might seem aloof, but in reality I love talking and writing a lot. I like making jokes. But I don't have any social life because I also find people stressful— having an overactive mind has benefits and downsides.

Oh, I should clarify, I don't mind about gender. I'm mostly just attracted to personalities.
