That's still a form of parasitism IMO, but I agree that it should be legal, and seen as a legit profession.

Why do you think it's parasitism?

What do you want to do about that? Force women to date men they dislike, to the point that they prefer to be alone rather than with them? Brainwash them? Everyone has a right to their own standards. If those things are okay in women, but not in men, it's because men don't care about them, but women do. Either be what women want or accept they won't want anything to do with you.

If that thinking is commonplace, it's because they often can marry such men, so why would they settle for less?

In my country (note: a middle eastern country), unmarried and unemployment daughters have the right to continue recieving the retirement income of their highest earning deceased parents for life *regardless of age and health condition*, unless they get married.
Sons can’t unless: 1) they’re less than 18 but it stops once they’re 18.
2) it’s confirmed by a medical committe of having a disability (note. only very serious conditions like down syndome, advanced cancer or being handicaped; things like AS or HDD aren’t even viewed as disabilities here)

You can imagine how many unmarried daughters would prefer to remain unemployed and receive retirement income later which would be higher than low paid entry jobs.

I also imagine a lot of men think that's a good thing, because it prevents those women from competing with men for jobs. Am I wrong? Isn't it so cool to perpetuate cycles of dependence, general backwardness and lack of personal freedom? :D

Not really, when it comes to entry jobs and some fields, women win in the job market.

Employers here have no shame to specify the gender in job ads.

A sample:

Image

Junior Accountants are often females for example and employers specify it in ads - a male accountant or HR graduate would have a very hard time to find his first job.

Most min wage workers in my city are women. Every fast food is 99% women with a male cook. My bank is 100% women as ar the other branches, they just to be male managers and mixed desks people.
It’s simple. Attractive young females sell better to men. Sex sells. Would s middle class male prefer to do business with a sexy attractive 18 old woman or a obese creepy 30 old man?
Though a thought? Why can’t they have a woman as the cook? Why not go 100% women like the banks.
Most stores are 80%-100% women employees. Mine is 70% probably because it’s an outdoors store and more men are into outdoors traditionally so they hire more male experts. Gun stores are usually more male but a lot are hiring hot women to dress up sexy and sell guns, and it works, especially at gun shows, much like car shows have barely dressed women stand near cars. Hot women plus guns equal increased sales. Guys love watch women in bikinis shoot guns and having their boobs or bit bounce. I get sent videos of it a lot from guys

So while the USA may not be able to outright say only women apply they certainly hire mostly women at the lower employment levels.
I’ve watched it change for years. Fast food use to be most guys. I’d prefer guys I get embarrassed and shy around women ,making ordering food hard. Lucky so,emplaces are doing self order so I can avoid thenwomen workers.

In Canada, I'd have to research. But many things are done on a provincial level.

Any crime in Canada, though, is a federal crime if the maximum penalty is two years in prison. So there is more federal power at least in some areas in Canada.

There’s a federal age of consent. It’s 16 I believe, states can’t go under it but can make more strict laws.

Virtually all, and probably all, states have laws stricter than that Federal standard.

Most, if not all, states, ban intercourse between a person 21 years of age and older, with a person under the age of 18.

In most states, the "age of majority" is 18.

STATUTORY RAPE LAW, CANADA

It looks like they don't have specific statutory rape laws in provinces. Unlike the USA, where each state has its own statutory rape law.

The Age of Consent in Canada is 16 years old. The age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participation in sexual activity. Individuals aged 15 or younger in Canada are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape or the equivalent local law.

Canada statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual intercourse with a person under age 16. There are two close in age exemptions. One allows a minor aged 12 or 13 to consent to sexual congress with an individual less then two years older. The other allows 14 and 16 year olds to consent to partners less than 5 years older. The age of consent is raised to 18 when the older party is in a position of trust or authority over the other, the younger party is in a relationship of dependency with the owner, or if the relationship is exploitative. Every act of anal intercourse is criminalized with the exemptions for married couples or 2 people over age 18. The exemptions become invalid if a third person is present of if the act does not take place in private.

Just like drinking age, there is no federal age of consent law (unless you count DC as a federal law, but that only applies to the district). Don't know why sly is saying that but he's wrong.

There is no federal "age of consent" in the United States.

Only Bea is doing that here.

No its not only Bea. There have been several men stating that women get free room and board for presenting their “desirable parts”. Women are being labeled as takers and never givers. Women have been labeled as physically weak and simply because of their gender unable to match a mans earning power. Home care and child care apparently has no value, at least in comparison to the cash the eternally hard working man brings home.

Whether by killing a wild beast and dragging it back to the cave to cook on a fire, or earning a paycheque, men have always been providers & protectors. This has not changed, even in modern society what with all the equality this and that and feminist movements. So, people are rightfully pointing these things out because they are true.

Still doesn’t make Bea any less of a hypocrit for ripping on young people for not being financially independent while her own child isn’t. This is a generational/ageism thing, not male/female. It’s also a double standard of expectations of other people’s children vs. her own.

In hunter/gatherer societies, most of the food is provided by female gatherers, not male hunters.

And females have been "providing" the caring/nurturing roles since humans climbed out of the trees. The idea that men do all the work while women just sit around doing nothing has no basis in reality.

She got government to pay for it. Though housing usually only pays 75% of rent. I guessing maybe her daughter is on disability. All such things are fine with women, but for men makes you a worthless unlovable loser.

Don’t men on disability get those perks too?

Yes but again men in disability= unlovable losers
Women on disability =dateable

The only time I hear any negative about women and benifits is the claim women have lots of kids to get welfare, otherwise I don’t hear disabled women called losers, parasites, thief’s, drain on society, worthless etc. men are expected to be successful, providers, women have no expectations to be successful since society deems it fine for them to just mooch off men.

If her daughter was a son he wouldn’t found some woman willing to let him live with her and provide for him. That doesn’t happen. Men on housing or disability are seen as the worse of worse, lowest of low. Homeless men are seen as better then men on disability as atleast they don’t accept stolen money as benifits and survive on their own.
But society says it’s fine and good for women who can’t provide for them to get benefits.
I bet you if they made all government benefits for women only the republicans would be fine with and support it. They just don’t like supporting worthless men was such men should die if they can’t be a successful middle class man.

I’ve had women on benifits reject me for being on benefits.

For record I not saying women in benefits themselves don’t feel like parasites or worthless, just that society doesn’t see them as such. Society still sees and treats women as fragile beings that need coddling as sexist as that is. Unless they see them with 5 plus kids who each get welfare. But single women with no kids on welfare is fine with society.

People have absolutely told me I'm a loser because of my job.

And, in low-income, customer-service jobs, it's not the case that customers are only sh_tty and disrespectful to male employees. If reincarnation is real, some of the men on this forum had better elect to stay men because they sure as heck wouldn't enjoy the reality of being a woman.

Lastly, it's more acceptable for men to support women (in society's eyes) because women are still expected to be the primary care-takers of children.

Haven’t you said you get mistaken for a guy?

They don’t look down on women working hose jobs like men, a lot of women who are married or in relationships work retail while their spouse works a real job and provides, this is how it’s bene since women were allowed to work in the 1900s. Well yeah rude mean customers are rude to everyone but do they look down in womennas thy do men working Retail? Most I hear is men asking them out, flirting with them or just creepy staring at them, I get why aren’t you working a real job at your age comments. How you going provide for a family working retail comments.
I’d think I’d love being a woman, but I was born male. You wouldn’t like being male unless you’ll born to a well off family. Most my family is female, all my friends are female
I quit understand reality of being female. They don’t want to be male.

Given today’s society most women don’t have kids I fail to see how that’s a valid excuse today.

I wouldn't prefer to be either male or female. I'd just rather be a gender-less robot as I think "gendered" expectations are bollocks.

And I've absolutely been judged for being a 35 year old adult who washes dishes for a living.

This means that young guys need to choose carefully their future careers, and to avoid fields which are 'typically female dominated'- because they won't find jobs there. In an ideal world gender shouldn't be a factor in this, but reality is far from it.

Funny, same here in banks, managers can be male but most CSRs and tellers are female.

Can not provinces make stricter laws like thenus states can.
Example age to smoke federally is 18 my state made it 21. Federally you can buy a handgun at 18 most states made it 21.

Age of consent is no different which different states having different laws. Just like min wage is higher in most states then federal min wage

For alcohol and tobacco and gambling etc yes, but age of sexual consent laws are federal in Canada AND also apply to all Canadians worldwide. This is to prevent Canadian citizens from travelling to places like Thailand for sex tourism with underage children. There are no Provincial or Territorial age of sexual consent laws, only one national standard.

In Canada, for federal civil service jobs, people must speak both French and English fluently.

There are quite a few jobs in New York City which requires one to be bilingual----Spanish/English bilingualism is especially desired. The fact of my English-only proficiency decreased my options when I was searching for a second job.

That sounds like a pain in the neck! I've never seen a job listing that required me to be bilingual. Not that Australia is a homogeneous place. I work with Indians, Bangladeshis, Chinese, Malaysians, Veitnamese, Thais, Philippinos, Germans, Russians, etc and they all speak fluent English.

I never thought left wing Canada would be that homophobic. Do they expect gays to have penis in vagina sex?

Then again something tells me this law isn't enforced.
