Do you still have to live with her, or has she moved in with the other guy?

Sorry if it wasn't clear, the purpose of my anecdote wasn't to detrail but to provide an example of just how complicated this kind of thing can get if you don't just step away.

I do sincerely hope that this works out the best for you, Pandora_Box. It's a horrible thing you're going through.

It's not the baby's fault at all and we should be progressive enough as a society not to label children out of wedlock as "bastards" and think using profanity referencing a woman's vagina is appropriate to degrade a woman (what could possibly be worse on than a VAGINA, right? throw around that c-word!). We're all on Pandora_Box's side here, but there's such a thing as class. And for me to point that out... my god. I guess some people still live in a cave.

This is the problem, she probably doesn't feel loved by you. It's a big problem with NT/AS relationships. That is also probably the reason why she slept with another man. She wanted to feel a connection with somebody. I think it would be bad for both of you to continue the relationship. She will continue to feel unloved, and years from now what will you tell you "adoptive" child? If the father of the child is unattached I would recommend advising her to try and make it with him.
If the kid does turn out to be your's it complicates the situation even more.

Oh no, I am so sorry. You had exciting news and then it turns into something horrid because it turns out you might not be the father.
