Mainly, for a Middle East man who think I am an old man..And another one who deceived me by saying that he is a J....Or he may wants to deceive you...

If it is not the real me, why I have to bother to put words on it? I hate others from internet may will copy my photo,etc...

P.S. Please read the words on my photo again...They can prove something..Otherwise why I do not just copy a random photo from internet? Or put some ridiculous things like "This is me, honest"? Why I have to put All rights reserved on it to warn others not copy it?

I am skeptical. I have only heard people claim themselves as Oriental or of the Orient when they are fascinated with Asian culture but aren't Asian.

I have never once met an Asian who referred to themselves as oriental.


Usage Note: Asian is now strongly preferred in place of Oriental for persons native to Asia or descended from an Asian people. The usual objection to Orientalmeaning "eastern"is that it identifies Asian countries and peoples in terms of their location relative to Europe. However, this objection is not generally made of other Eurocentric terms such as Near and Middle Eastern. The real problem with Oriental is more likely its connotations stemming from an earlier era when Europeans viewed the regions east of the Mediterranean as exotic lands full of romance and intrigue, the home of despotic empires and inscrutable customs. At the least these associations can give Oriental a dated feel, and as a noun in contemporary contexts (as in the first Oriental to be elected from the district) it is now widely taken to be offensive. However, Oriental should not be thought of as an ethnic slur to be avoided in all situations. As with Asiatic, its use other than as an ethnonym, in phrases such as Oriental cuisine or Oriental medicine, is not usually considered objectionable.

Every Asian person can claim that he/she is Asian, and the term is now becoming exclusive to east pacific Asian where is not my homeland. I hate to be sound simple and vulgar(Refer to several countries where I lived before and haven't got very good impression with). I live in another part of Asia.

They would not refer themselves as so, therefore they cannot use this beautiful word, but I can. If everybody uses it, I would not even use it.

I don't think Asian itself would sound... As beautiful as you said.

Orient itself is a much more beautiful word than Asia(Please, don't argue with me abut O...Cusine,etc, sounds disgusting, however, this word is used less often than Asia at least )(Or ‘Indian made’ lock in Midnight's Children)
