I don't think you seemed weak or even needy, but I do think this was a case of miss-communication. You basically forced the girl out of what she wound comfortable. She has her own speed at replying to messages, and you've broken that by sending more messages before she was ready. Another mistake, I think, was the fact you wanted to define the whole thing way too early. "What is this? Why are we meeting? What does it mean?" These aren't the questions you should be asking at that point.
Hey, I've been there. Whenever a guy asked me to do something with him, my first question was always: "why"? What are we going to do? Do you want to hand out as friends or are you flirting with me? Let me tell you, guys don't like this approach any more than girls like it. So unlike fraac, I don't think it was a gender thing. You simply failed to follow the unspoken rules of social communication.
But it's not the end of the world. There will be other opportunities.
That being said, it's true that a girl usually responses quickly if she's interested.
YEAH
SHE WOULD RIGHT?!
WHICH IS WHY IM SOOOO CONFUSED BY THE WORD "sincere"
SHE ISN'T! SHE'S LYING!
Why on earth, would someone spend their time, telling me that they find me so intriguing, and they're so sincere just to lag behind in their responses, and eventually cut off all contact? IT'S MIND BOGGLING! AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TO ME!
Just yesterday - I was coming out of the dollar store and this BEAUTIFUL girl walks past me, gorgeous. What did I do? Rush past her. What am I supposed to do? Stop her dead in her tracks?
