What about an action that can be caring/considerate/thoughtful as well as amusing/endearing/lovable :?:

I agreew ith this generally but there seems to be some overlap between the two.

I often find guys who are sweet very endearing also.

Yeah, the two often go together, but in that case, wouldn't it just be both cute and sweet? Unless you want to coin some kind of bastardization like "cweet" or "swute"

Looks reasonable. They're not mutually exclusive.
I think cuteness provokes protective feelings, sweetness doesn't necessarily.
Maybe cuteness is the childlike thing and sweetness is more the parent thing, as it seems associated with a provider role, and a soft provider at that, suggesting a maternal quality.

Hey man, it's better to be considered cute than to be considered ugly. Trust me on this.

I have always thought that women only say that to blow me off. But you will have to look into the girl's eyes to see what her actions/body language is to understand if it is the outcome what you are hoping for. I usually look somewhere else when this plays out, then I don't catch the social cues.

Most girls wouldn't come anywhere near me but the hottest girl in my school (you know, the would be tall, radiant blonde!) has called me "cute" and "sexy" and hugged me on several occasions. Yes, it is slightly patronizing but hey! Meanwhile the "real men" who constantly hit on her are ignored! Ha! Sorry, I just had to brag about that somewhere!

I have a good friend in real life who is extremely handsome and such but hates to be called cute too. He's only 5-5 though and he thinks that's why he's called that. He gets mad when girls call him cute.

That's a good thing. It's a brush-off command in the best case, and a suggestion of moving into the friendzone in the worst.

Cause a woman wanting you to be her friend is like so terrible.

When you are in love with a woman and you want to hold her and touch her face and run your fingers through her hair, "friendship" can feel pretty terrible.

^^This. Especially when she is the only possible prospect in your life.

"Cute" is better than "repulsive."
