Well, I dealt with it by being an idiot, and played to this a***hole's latest way of winding me up...so that I *did* appear insecure and barmy and him all completely innocent. He purposely made a post on Facebook which basically made me out to be:

1) Uninteresting
2) Unwanted
3) That it was very, very obvious I should've understood the above.

This person was absolutely nasty, but nobody else could see it because it was based on previous posts between us. I f*cking hate him. I fell right into his trap, and everyone else of course thought I was barmy - there was no other way of seeing it for anyone else because he purposely set it up to look this way.

What's weird though, is that he's been horrible to me before, by mentioning, "Those people with hooked noses...those Arabs" directly implying me, because he knows I have Arab blood. His wife picked on me too by saying she didn't like people who didn't know much about politics (i.e. me) and also commented on my *personal* physical appearance...each time glaring right at me with the "evils". Afterwards when he saw I was upset, he said stuff like he was there for his friends etc. etc. and gave me a hug. He was nice again when I mentioned I was upset on FB and he asked me why.

And yet, he had a dig at me again. Him and his wife are both f*cked up. They actually like being nasty and expect you to deal with it. F*ck that, and f*ck the rest of them who didn't batter an eyelid at the racist remark.

One thing's for sure - I'm never stepping foot in that place again. I hate the people. I've never met such a judgemental bunch of a***holes. Even the tutors at my college there were going along with the students, bashing people on benefits, while the one of the students was saying everyone should be forced to work and everyone in prison should be killed!!

The thing is, as someone outside of that FB situation I probably would've spotted him purposely winding her (me) up, because of how he suddenly acted very innocent and "accused" and highlighting one of my weaknesses at the end all as part of his plan. I never want to meet someone like that again.

That really sucks that you're having a hard time. It probably doesn't help but my best suggestions for you are to don't hinge everything on Facebook, and really keep that directness route in mind. The fact that one post could make you feel so miserable sounds like you're just not in a good place right now. The choices to make from this point are to express how this guy's post made you feel to him directly to see what he has to say, or to just walk away.

^^ I'm just having trouble trying to understand how exactly all this couple is related to being directness and L&D in relation with you. Maybe the clues are staring me in the face but I honestly just don't see it.

Thank you MjrMajorMajor. It's true, I did overreact to it, but what he was implying was very mean, and he was trying to dig at me at one of my biggest insecurities. It's true, I'm not in a good place right now. And you're right, I should've just walked away from him. I've deleted my FB account rather than delete that whole group of people. I'm just going to have another account pop up so that they don't notice nor give me any trouble.

Stalk, it doesn't relate. I could talk about the guy who it would relate to about directness, but I really want to forget about him, because he's friends with this couple and the rest of the group. He's cute, adorable...and full of head games. If I have to tread so carefully around someone, then surely if I slip on an eggshell in the future - that would be the end of it.

Ah, yes. It is sad to have to walk away in these instances.

^ I was wondering the same.

But I would love to make this bastard man's nose hooked and tell him afterward: "you're one of us now!!"

I'd volunteer but I'd eat lot of falafel first, they make me farty.
