I wonder which of these I'm lacking. Pretty certain of everything

Most girls don't believe a guy would just want to be their friend.

I have the opposite problem: guys offer friendship, I take the offer at face value, I accept, it turns out to have been a veiled attempt to start something romantic, I refuse, they get upset, friendship over.

Once in awhile it works, though, so I do have guy friends. Which is great, since women as a whole don't seem to like me much.
