Other that my mother (which obviously doesn't count - a face only a mother could love and all that), and random senile old women in nursing homes who thought I was their grandson, no one has ever complemented my appearance. Hell, even when my own mother "compliments" my appearance its things like "well, you're not that ugly" or the like. In the end though, I just accept that I'm ugly, deal with the cards that I'm dealt, and live my life. There is much more to life than having people think your attractive.
That's exactly what my mom used to compliment me ..by saying "you're not ugly" or "oh well, you are not a star but not ugly" and things like that.
Another thing that used to hurt me few years ago that she was used to look down on short people (who are as short as I am or even bit taller than me!) like for i.e " oh he's too short" or "he's handsome but too short" (talking abt tom cruise) as if shortness is equal to ugliness ...well in fact studies show that it's one of ugliness factors. My mom is short myself and so is my father (but my father is taller than me) ,but like many other short women, she never admired shorties .Saying such things about men who are about my height surely can give me an idea of how she thinks about me,no? After all I have a similar body type of their if not worse, but she never admits that to me. Oh well ....I think mom is like any woman afterall. Evolution sucks sometimes ....and so this thread
