Yes, I've used it quite a bit and met some very nice guys.

There are losers on there as well, of course, but that's no different from real life. You just have to be selective.

Yup, women are in general more shallow than men. Thats why they like shopping so much :).

Brian003 is an idiot. That's why he makes all these generalisations about women. :)

Attack the view and not the person please.

As for the OP's question... when I used dating sites I did not always respond to the men who didn't interest me. Here are some reasons:

-I meant to but forgot
-the last guy I said "no" to was really rude and I wasn't eager to repeat the episode
-I found the profile suspicious (possible con artist)
-I've tried to discourage this person before and he didn't comply with my wishes
-guy wants to know -why- I'm not interested and I don't feel like having that conversation

Also, sometimes I would start talking to a guy and then the conversation would fade because I spent more time on a different guy or because he was boring me or said something that I knew was a deal breaker so I lost interest.

Sorry.
If I say that his views are idiotic, is that ok?

Whatever sense it might make I'm also not able to handle dating more than one person at a time. The whole thing takes up so much mental energy just with one person, so I find that quite enough!

Yes I would definitely need to get used to dating that person. I believe that way is more a mutual context rather than 'playing the field'.

There is nothing wrong with what Merle and juliekitty talked about, it just seems way to formal for my tastes, though I appreciate the formality is there because otherwise it would probably be unmanageable.

Well I have to admit my persistence seems to have paid off. I got a reply from one of the people i messaged. Take a look. Im quite thrilled. :)

Hey dude =]

It's nice to get a properly worded email for once, one that shows my profile has acually been read, and thought put into emailing me, so thank you =]

My course is all about working out how to build flood defences basically. Which is quite interesting at the moment with all the flooding we've been having in this country =)

Your course sounds interesting too though, I've yet to learn to drive but have managed to go out and about in the Land Rovers with other work people and has been great fun =]

My course is based in Bristol but I spend most of my time in Worthing as my course is based online and I only have to visit the uni 7 times a year. As for my job, I love it :)

What do you do other than studying?

Recently I've been listening to a lot of Apocalyptica (awesome cello rock band - check them out!), Fuel (another awesome not well known band), Creed, Element Eighty, Alter Bridge, Turisas, oh so many bands really it'd take my years to list all the bands I like! I've been to quite a few gigs luckily =] I think I've seen at least 60/70 different bands live, which is quite some total! I love the atmosphere at gigs and really like to get in the mosh pit and release some stress! I like to try to see a band at least once a month, and while being an expensive habit, it's worth it =]

Long live the randomness!

I've never dyed my hair, it just changes colour on its own =] The sun in summer tends to make my hair go lighter and winter it gets a bit darker, but its always some shade of brown =]

Yes unfortunately my life has been extremely busy recently tons of coursework and I have exams coming up soon which I need to study for as well =[ but after reading your email I felt compelled to reply =]

I better get back to work though

Hope to hear from you soon,

That's nice to hear Topher, perhaps I should sign up after all & see what happens.

Just be careful & don't get your hopes up onlt to have them dashed as people on the net aren't always who they claim to be.

I know what you mean, I almost got suckered into a dating scam once, however thanks to my latent paranoia and a topic i posted on here i avoided it. This girl seems special, she noted i responded to every point in her profile and she answered every question I asked as well as asked some of her own :)

I'm a guy on those types of sites and there are definitely people who I do not reply too. I specifically state in my profiles that I am seeking a thin, younger, female. And yet I get messages from fat females, homosexual men, weird old people, etc. It pisses me off. Can't they read? :x

maybe the women don't think they are fat.
maybe the wierd old people don't think they are weird, or old.
maybe the homosexual men think you are desparate?

The individual in question described her body type as being "a few pounds extra" (it was, horrifically, far more than that), but she was well aware.

sinsboldly wrote:

When a profile states that the user is seeking someone who is younger than themselves, people who are way older should respect that and leave us alone.

sinsboldly wrote:

If they mistakenly believed that, then they might be dangerous individuals, trying to take advantage of those who they think are "desperate." In any case, it is rude to solicit someone for sex when you know they are not interested. I would never do that to a lesbian, for example.
