Thank you once again ASPiXiE, so much advice to take in! :D

I've just thought a bit about the essentials and preferences again and put together a list with alot less trouble than I thought:
Essentials:
-Must be no more than 5'8".
-Must be no older than me +2 years.
-Must be happy to converse about varying subjects and intellectual levels.
-Must be open to experimentation in sex life (nothing crazy).
-Must be grounded, nobody with delusions of grandeur or pretentiousness.
-Must not be too straight/serious all of the time.
-Must not be too overweight as there will be no attraction.
-Must not have children (I want my own and am uncertain if I could treat them 100% equally).
-Must want children in the future.
-Must have time for a relationship

Preferences:
-Dark hair.
-Brown eyes.
-Not still living with parents.
-Likes spicy food.
-Enjoys console gaming to some degree.
-Likes guitar led music.
-Studying and/or holding a job.
-Enjoys geeky days out (museum, walks, etc.).
-Not had to many relationships previously (I'm already probably going to be less experienced anyway).
-Doesn't buy into the latest trends.

Does this seem realistic?

Since you like this kind of writing I'll maybe take up you're offer if you really don't mind? It needs a fix for sure, nobody but WP members have been on it recently! Or maybe that's the picture's doing? :?

Remove half of those musts and all those preferences especially the dark hair and brown eyes things. Seriously??? All the cute blonde and redhead girls would skip your profile just by reading this. And what's wrong if the girl was half inch taller than you and don't care about this? You're missing many potentials like this.

Seriously, do you think that ,statistically, those would do good for you?

Hell, you are not a girl on a dating site, you can't afford to be that picky.

She can be picky on okcupid and she would still get messages and potential dates there , you cannot.

You can't emulate her and expect to get the same results, you should understand that.

Compromise.

Compromise!!

Well that's what I have been doing and it isn't working. This isn't what I'm supposed to put in my profile, I think ASPiXiE means to include things to indicate these within my profile. The second lot are only preferences and I'd definitely go against them if I liked someone. I was unsure about having so many essentials but a number of them I stick to in my searches anyway.

Compromise is only healthy up to a certain point. As a certain trigger happy cowboy once said "A man's gotta know his limitations"

I would say theres more attraction in being firm on what you want then there is on being a blank canvas on which to mold me into whatever shape you like. I find that kind of compromise to the point you are their puppet master somewhat over submissive and rather.....unhealthy to say the least.

ASPiXie can be super picky and will still be able to manage it because there's a surplus flow of males on dating sites, even if she excluded 80% of males there , many would still initiate contact with her.

You cannot play the same game.

Ah, and you think this will make it work better, eh?

Let's see how your 'amazing' picky list would affect the numbers.

-Must be no more than 5'8". --> all girls indifferent about height yet taller than 5'8'' , even slightly, will run away

-Must be no older than me +2 years. --- >if you're not 16 , remove this. It's stupid.

-Must be happy to converse about varying subjects and intellectual levels. ---> Fine.

-Must be open to experimentation in sex life (nothing crazy). --> Fine

-Must be grounded, nobody with delusions of grandeur or pretentiousness. ---> Fine.

-Must not be too straight/serious all of the time. --> Fine

-Must not be too overweight as there will be no attraction. --> Most girls, including the slim ones, would see this as an insensitive remark, remove it.

-Must not have children (I want my own and am uncertain if I could treat them 100% equally). ---> not necessary , same effect as the overweight must.

-Must want children in the future. ----> All girls who never thought of this yet or not sure about it will run away.

-Must have time for a relationship ---> Remove it, some might think you're too needy.

Preferences:
-Dark hair. ---> Remove this, damn it! , all non-dark haired girls will skip you.

-Brown eyes. ---> Remove this, damn it!, all non-brown eye girls will skip you.

-Not still living with parents. ---> Remove this, damn it!, all girls living with parents will....guess what? ....skip you!

-Likes spicy food. ---> Fine.

-Enjoys console gaming to some degree. ---> Fine

-Likes guitar led music. ----> Fine

-Studying and/or holding a job. ----> Fine.

-Enjoys geeky days out (museum, walks, etc.). --> better to remove this.

-Not had to many relationships previously (I'm already probably going to be less experienced anyway). ---> Remove this, damn it! ,and 'many is objective.

-Doesn't buy into the latest trends. ---> too vague and sounds emo.

OK, I'm pretty sure these wouldn't just be listed on my profile unless I'm completely misunderstanding what ASPiXiE is suggesting. All of these I would vet by looking at their profiles so nobody would skip past for that reason. I was unsure with the age one though, I have a wider search on my profile at the moment but many are far more emotionally advanced than me and I feel I could be out of my depth so am often put off from messaging them. I'm not saying this will work better but it can't get worse...

Again, not going to be listed in a profile but I think the advice is to take the ones that involve activities or other things that can be worked into my profile as interests and do that so that if there's anyone who does like them looking, they may contact me instead. By the last part I ment follow all the latest fads (like UGG's ) like a religion, probably could have worded it better (both times!).

I just hate how they're on eight out of ten women, half are falling apart (non-branded, etc.) and many seem to think they go with everything! I just like a little individuality. Not emo or any other subculture's 'individuality', which isn't at all individual.

Some products are good, and they get a huge market because they're good, pure and simple.

I love my iphone.

Does it make me less individual?
