Well, don't use it to meet people...that's probably a good idea but it is good for friends.

I'm much too inebriated to bother answering this truthfully so I'll leave this to a simple two-word answer: I haven't.

I've deactivated my FB and am waiting for TPTB to permanently delete as per my request. I found that Google+ suited what I wanted from a social network so much better and to such an extent that tolerating the Facebook environment was no longer necessary.

Social Networking is like sushi. Some people love it. Others hate it. But for those who love it, they aren't going to want to go back to grocery store sushi after they've tasted premium restaurant sushi prepared by bonafide sushi chef. That's Google+: better ingredients, greater skill, more customer service, as ordered. Breaking from my analogy, I mostly enjoy how G+ is social anxiety compatible for being a social network. I'm very comfortable there.

Of course, there is still room for improvement with G+. It's still in trial and Google's global policies aren't all compatible with a social network environment. But Google's working on it and is actually paying attention to the feedback they receive.

Meh. I only go there to connect with people since my life is very isolated right now. I live in a remote area. I'm very careful about who I add as a friend, I have to know them well enough that they'd be alright with me adding them. I still get these guys from other countries...but then I realized I was using Pen Pal. I've had more luck catching fish there than on the dating sites... :?

Anyway it's just a social network. If you don't like it don't use it. I don't get spam but I do get a lot of game invites. No big deal, if I'm not playing that game I just ignore it. If there are fishy people who are making inappropriate messages I delete them. And I didn't have many friends until I went to Pen Pals. Generally in life and on facebook people don't want to be friends with an odd hermit like me...until I went to Pen Pals. :?

I signed up at that pen pal thing too, I'm not interested in online dating but I'm curious to see what crops up there. Maybe I'll get lucky and the son of a deposed African dictator sitting on a fortune in gold and diamonds will need my help smuggling it out of the country!

I've gotten one spam message on this site even though I've only been here a couple weeks, which is more spam I've received on FB in the course of 4 years. I have 400-something friends and check it nearly every day as well, but I don't run apps. They must be doing something right over there.
