Wolfheart, why don't you ask those hot chicks that act like b*****s and step on others if being self-absorbed and expecting special treatment works out? I think they'd tell you it works out quite well for them, idiot. Sorry, but you are:D They definitely don't suffer from a lack of love, or a lack of job, or a lack of anything really. Trust me, treating people like sh** is the way to live and succeed if you look beautiful. If you look ugly as a girl, how you behave isn't going to get you any attention. I get stepped on whether I'm nice or not. If I'm rude, I just get stepped on WORSE.

There's some ugly truth in this rant in specific, I am afraid.

A physically beautiful girl, how matter rude and bad she is, would keep getting male attention. She might not be a horrible gf material, but at least she would be able to get male attention to start with.

I have to agree with bluerose. I read a book one month ago, the power and paradox of physical attractiveness. I used to have the ugly duckling syndrome and got better looking as I got older... Obviously not good enough to escape all insults. Anyways, job opportunities are largely dependent on physical attractiveness. Basically everything in life is dependent on ones physical attractiveness. It doesn't mean that looks are everthing. Think about the positives: alpha males get all the beautiful females and are likely to cheat on their BEAUTIFUL wife regardless of how attractive she is. That's one area where beautiful women fall behind.. and to me, the most important area.

I agree, looks have a lot to do with who gets hired. But they don't necessarily control the quality of your life.

Never. Are you saying you'd spit on wolfsheart--his posts aside? You wouldn't? You're an exception? There you go, generalization failed. IF you did, then that would tear into your whole i'm nice except when i'm on WP routine.

If you generalize because you're bitter--its still your fault, you control your actions.

That has not been my experience, and I've been in the corporate world continuously for well over 20 years.

If looks are considered, it's usually for a business purpose - for example attractive salespeople on average tend to be more successful than plainer ones, all else being equal. This is not true for accountants or customer service reps and you see a big mix in those areas.

The only time I've seen anything like you describe, it was the fact that managers at one specific company would deliberately hire "plain" women in order not to attract the attention of their notoriously lecherous CEO...

If every woman you meet from now on spits on you for no reason, no matter how you act, how long would it take you to start "generalizing?"Never? Really? So you'll just let yourself be spat on, you won't tell or complain to anyone because very few if any would know what you're going through and be able to relate? What would your opinion of women be after that? Would you go around calling them all respectable ladies?

If a black person steals from you, are you going to persecute and prejudge every black person you meet as a thief? If one Eastern person that you meet has terrorist ideals, are you going to assume every person of Eastern or Arabic descent to be a terrorist? What has sexual preference got to do with it? It's a very narrow minded and biased view, a viscous cycle which has been the cause of crimes against humanity and genocide in the past.

Spitting on someone would be classed as Common Assault in the United Kingdom, spitting in general is a disgusting habit and I've certainly never known any British woman to engage in such vulgar behavior. I'd advise you speak to an authoritative figure on the matter.

I'm not responsible for that, people are free to hire whoever they like, after all businesses are out to make a profit. Certain jobs are very competitive, employers are obliged to hire whoever they think will make them the biggest profit or product, it's just a selection process, it doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have the potential to achieve something, look at Susan Boyle for example.

Yeah I can't really speak for corporate, I don't really think its the norm. But for many niche businesses and jobs it can have a direct effect.

Modeling, lifeguards, actors/actresses, certain restaurants etc. Almost any job that has the acquisition of tips or involves sales.

But yeah in a position of heavy responsibility, looks won't cut it. But then again having the appearance of professionalism, is being judged on "looks" as well.

The problem our society has is the high expectations placed on people with high attractiveness and the low expectations on lower physical attractiveness. This creates the self-fulfilling prophecy. It's proven that people expect individuals with higher physical attractiveness to be more intelligent, but there is in fact no correlation between IQ and looks. That's how damaging this stereotype can be for people with lower physical attractiveness.

Furthermore, occupations that would not necessarily benefit from employing someone with higher physical attractiveness are still judging employees with higher physical attractiveness to be more appealing in the work area despite their actual qualities. This is shown in studies that rate professors physical attractiveness and their job performance. Males with lower physical are SIGNIFICANTLY affected when it comes to student evaluations. Believe me, stereotypes pertaining to physical attractiveness are prevalent everywhere. It's part of our DNA to keep the genetic pool desirable, which makes sense why we increase the chances of people with higher physical attractiveness survival (since they're the ones with more money most of the time). HOWEVER, this is NOT right.

Intelligence, in my mind, is far more important for survival than is physical attractiveness. That's the superficiality of our planet. Soon enough things will change (hopefully!).

This is very weird and it tells me something else is going on other than looks-ism. A large number of gay women are openly hostile to the entire concept of looks-ism, seeing it as a tool of male oppression. Many embrace ugliness as a way to keep men away from them or as a deliberate rebellion against the "Tyranny of Beauty". These women can be seen in Gay Pride parades proudly not being pretty as a political statement. That these same women would turn around and insult you for your looks seems...odd. Something else is going on here.

Greatsharkbite - And who'se fault is how I get treated? Still mine? Geez, how about all those pretty princesses out there who whinge when their boyfriend doesn't buy them the right colour of a car and act like a b***h towards anywhere else, where are the people picking on them? Why is everything my fault, but everything everyone else does to me because of my looks - people I've never even f*****g talked to, much less been rude towards - a-okay?

BTW, do you understand the concept of an analogy? I think you may not. And if every woman did it when they met him than how am I to know I wouldn't? Because it's out of character? Instincts beat character, no matter how good of a personality a male thinks he has, what he instinctively does is another issue. I definitely wouldn't argue with his entire life experience, because I'm just not that f*****g arrogant.

Wolfheart -

Who said anything about ONE person? What is it about EVERY DYKE I'VE EVER MET AND EVERY MALE that you have difficulty comprehending? I'm not speaking lack of attention, I'm speaking NEGATIVE attention, although lack of attention is there too, like not saying hello to me when I'm part of a group and instead talking to every other woman except for me after I've SMILED and said hello. Nothing weird about my smile either, women react very positively to my smiles, so do gay guys.

Why are you telling me it's disgusting, I'm not the one who spits on people? I'm starting to think your brain might not function correctly, but let me repeat incase you get it this time -I'M the one being spat on.

nick007 said it, you agreed with his post.

I'm not so dumb as to whinge about what words someone uses to describe others. And sorry, but I'd take being called a dyke before being spat on and beaten up, wouldn't you?

Are you so naive as to think for every Susan Boyle there aren't tons of talented singers out there who don't get any attention because they lack the looks? Are you so naive as to think nobody could possibly have a set of facial features so nasty that people may just not like them them because of that, but they may not think so, but instead figure out excuses for it, like dissecting said person's every action and word to the point where they don't do with nice-looking people to find an excuse for their instinctive repulsion and feel better about themselves? So no, they don't think they do it, but they still do, or is that too complicated for you to understand? Ever think that a vibe may not be vibe at all, it may be you not visually liking the person and inventing the nonexistent vibe in your imagination to rationalize your dislike?

Janissy - Okay, what's going on then?

I have a recognized and diagnosed skeletal deformity, that's one thing that clearly separates me from others, and the ONLY thing, if you believe my friends and not random strangers.

So what is it? What is that mysterious force causing dykes and males to treat me the opposite of how gay men and straight women treat me? I'm very curious to know. Maybe we can do a scientific paper on it or something. Because it's a very real phenomena I experienced far before I put two and two together and realized that that was, what was in fact happening to me everywhere I went and with everyone I ever met.

What's going on is a mystery I don't think is solvable without actually spending time with you as you interact with these 4 groups of people; straight men, gay men, straight women, gay women. The 2 groups who would be attracted to women treat you poorly. The two groups who would not be attracted to women do not treat you poorly. The theme is that people who would theoretically be attracted to you because of your gender are instead lashing out at you because of your skeletal deformity. It all seems so plausible except it doesn't fit at all with majority lesbian culture which is firmly against judging women negatively because they don't fit conventional ideas of beauty. There is a strong political component that should make gay women the group least likely to judge you negatively.

My theory, which I have no way of testing so it will have to stay speculation, is that you are pre-emptively showing hostility to the people who would otherwise be attracted to you because of your gender but not showing this same hostility to people who wouldn't. And that straight women and gay men don't get any of this hostility from you so they don't lash back.

That is my untestable guess.

edited to add: my theory only applies in the U.S. where lesbian culture has adopted this stance. After reading Face-ofBoo's post, I checked your location and it is tThe Baltics where lesbian culture is easily quite different. I was being U.S.-centric  I still do wonder if the two groups, straight men and gay women, might be reacting to pre-emptive anger from you that you don't show to straight women and gay men.

What you're saying is ever weirder than what bluerose said, that's the first time I hear of such thing.

I knew lesbians in person before, while their taste in girls' appearance may differ slightly from straight guys (but not THAT different), they're not 'ugliness' adopters either.

It's a political stance that may be specific to the U.S. I guess I should check if the OP is in the U.S. before going too far with that theory.

edited to add: after reading Face of Boo's post, I checked the OP's location which is The Baltics. I don't know what the political stance of lesbian culture is there so none of this may apply.

Homosexuality is just a sexual orientation, simple as that, it is not some political/ideological movement.

Now if some Lesbians in the US follows a such ideology then I doubt it would be a majority case.

Janissy -

I am somewhat attracted to the butch lesbians I meet here, I was definitely very friendly to them, maybe too much to some, where they might've thought the fugly dog (not my own words but a rough translation to what one of them referred to me as behind my back) was attracted to them and lashed out because of that.

But I used to treat them exactly the same as gay guys and straight women and I can say that with the full conviction that everyone that knows me can back me up - some of there were there during certain incidents of straight out violent behaviour from men and dykes and they were even more horrified than I was and just couldn't believe it, wouldn't have if they hadn't witnessed it. They definitely didn't find anything that I'd done wrong to even partially explain said behaviour.

I believe in the US things are majorly different than here. There is no big strong movement here, and most lesbians here are either very feminine who like butch (and I mean can't tell if the person's a man or a woman most of the time) girls as a substitute of men or said butchy girls, who have a very straight-male-ish taste in women -I'd say the same taste pretty much, though obviously they have to take what they can get as it's still a taboo thing here. The androgynous lesbians you probably know are almost nonexistent here, I've never met one in person and I've been to plenty of lesbian bars and gay clubs - I'm friends with several said femme lesbians (obviously different from the butch ones I referred here to as dykes and who in return refer to me as a dog) and also gay guys.

I think some of the cultural differences may explain the male behaviour as well - people just in general are not very polite or tactful here, that's not just something I said either. Any campaign or movement basically against pretty women would be absolutely ridicouled here and women and men in general pay a lot of attention to female attractiveness without anyone really questioning whether it's PC or not. If I look at even the women politicians we have here, vs the ones you'd see in the US there's a major difference. Maybe this is why my post is so hard to swallow for some people on here.

Thank you for a serious, nonoffensive response :)
